chad morris vs western kentucky. the game that got him fired. its one thing to lose in state talent to transfers, its another to lose to wku at home with the qb you said wasnt good enough putting on a fricking show.
i still have no idea how our qb play was that bad under morris. this game made it clear it wasnt a talent issue alone for sure.

7, SEVEN people lining up at QB vs Clemson and a Fullback throwing a pass on 4th down with a chance to win the game

Any chad morris game. Worst coach in SEC history.

Ding Ding Ding
We have a unanimous winner with the Sumlin, Chavis, Mazzone trifecta.

Has anyone mentioned Kurby-Kerby-Kirby in the SEC-CG going for a fake punt on 4th down at Midfield when Bama had their backup QB in the game with 4 mins left in the game?
All season you rely on your Defense, but in this scenario you don't trust your Defense to hold Bama assuming you pin them deep in their own territory after the Punt
Good coaching dictates that you try to pin them deep with a punt, rely on your Defense to get a stop and play for a winning FG
Worst big game coaching decision that I have seen in a long time
I figured it would be the 2nd post after the OP

You're an idiot.
Linebacker play was a weakness in 2018.
We struggled with mobile QBs all year. Over 10 rushing TDs allowed to mobile QBs on the season. Burrow got multiple 4th down conversions on us that season.
We weren't stopping Hurts and every knowledgeable dawg fan knew it. The only way to win was to keep the ball out of their hands.
After the fake punt, hurts carved us up. 25 more yards wouldn't have made any difference (did you see the touchdown run? It was there at will for bama)

So in order to feel better about Kurby and his $7million per yr salary you have to convince yourself that Bama would have drove 80 to 85 yards with their backup QB
You also have to understand the other HC on the opposite sideline, pinned deep in his own territory Saban might have shrunk the playbook to avoid a TO deep in his own territory and played for OT rather than risk a loss in regulation
To just assume that UGA couldn't get 1 stop from their Defense with 3mins 25secs to go with Bama having to go 80 to 85 yards is overly protective of Kerby's bad coaching move
It was horrible coaching, also with all the elite NFL Talent on the UGA Offense, why not leave the Offense on the Field and trust them to make a clutch play with the game on the line?
A smart HC would trust an Offense full of future NFLers rather than backups on the Punt Cover Team
Jus' sayin',........
One of the worst moves by a HC that I have ever seen

And that's why you are a georgia tech fan.
This wasn't the first game of the season. The coaches knew who we were on defense. The coaches knew who was on Alabama. There were 12 games already to tell us who the pieces were on the football field.
That backup QB was the starter in 2017. But we didnt have a defense designed around Roquan Smith anymore. That 2017 starter (like the 2018 Burrow) was an Achilles heel for our defense.
Knowing that, you dont give the ball back.
If you want to debate better 4th down playcalls. Or 3rd and 4th down playcalls... that makes more sense. But even then, you are an idiot if you think that makes a case for most incompetent coaching ever.
Give the ball back to Bama, they drive and score. It didnt matter if it was a punt or turnover on downs. I support going for it because it was going for the win.

Watching the clock run down was so goddamn infuriating and seeing the mass subs.
It's because the whole stadium predicted it. That was one of the longest, strangest crowd noises i have heard in a stadium especially for a home team. Thousands yelling "wtf are you doing!?!?"
