Just because the police couldn't prove they didn't have anything to do with it doesn't mean he doesn't know who did it.
Stop it.
He knows who robbed him. The streets always talk. He served his own justice and tried to recoup his cash and jewelry when the police were ineffective.
The thieves just tattled.
The justice system will collect their cash and he will get probation and life will go on.
