A little poll. Who here is for hunh and their ability to exploit the rules to the fullest to gain offensive advantages such as stopping defensive substitution, putting pressure on the officials, etc, yet find the idea of defensive players Dropping for less than traumatic injuries reprehensible? Its just within the rules (how does a player know whether he is having heat stroke or is just tired? Hes not a doctor, why chance it? ). How many of you would be screaming for a new rule to stop it if it suddenly became prevalent? How many of the brave coaches championing the current set of rules would be screaming for a new rule? Ill hang up and listen.

I am not in favor of HUNH offense and believe if the defense must flop to slow it down, then go with it. Have not seen rules prohibiting it

One requires practice and efficiency and one requires being a bitch....

Why is this even a discussion

who here among the hunh proponents will be calling for a rule change if teams increasingly start encouraging players to drop?

Flopping was bad enough already. Now that the NCAA is giving in to all the have-nots and allowing the HUNH to continue as-is, the flopping will only get worse. The game is being ruined imho.

There's nothing unethical or illegal in using the rules to your team's advantage.

putting pressure on the officials

It's our job to accommodate the teams; not have the teams accommodate us. Anyone who says the HUNH causes some sort of undue "pressure" on officials only proves just how ignorant they are.

Rule Book Code of Ethics:
quote:

Feigning an injury for any reason is unethical. An injured player must be given full protection under the rules, but feigning injury is dishonest, unsportsmanlike and contrary to the spirit of the rules. Such tactics cannot be tolerated among sportsmen of integrity.

The HUNH works within the rules and ethics of the game while faking injuries doesn't.....

You'll have to up your troll game; this attempt fails.

how much practice 'does run to the line as fast as you can and wait for the play call, if they try to substitute snap the ball'? take. And I'm sure defensive players will need to practice to keep it realistic.

I'm fine with the HUNH.
I'm not a fan of flopping.
But I'm not seeing the connection.

If you actually are an official at any level and that is your actual opinion you do not need to be one any longer. The duty of the official is to see that the rules and procedures of the game are administered fairly and consistently at all times. Being in position to actual do your job before the ball is snapped is part of that, so is giving the replay official time to actually review the play.

Damn the entire state of Alabama needs to be euthanized if this is a serious response, the rest of the country has let y'all get away with going full blown retard way too often.
