I think student debt is the next huge political/social issue on the horizon. It is insane how much money colleges take from kids in exchange for unmarketable degrees in liberal arts and philosophy.

It's a huge problem. Online schools like Walden, University of Phoenix, etc. are also huge factors with student debt.

Meh. Engineers make more but our grads have a larger impact on those around them (media, politics, etc.)

I agree. But who gives engineers their really big jobs, like bridges and such? Politicians

I wonder if this takes into consideration the grads that go to med school/ pharmacy school / law school that don't make any money for 3-8 years after they finish undergrad.

Doubtful. Looks like it's just undergrad.

I doubt someone in that situation is busy sharing their zero dollar salary.

No, it doesn't. Alabama has always been a liberal arts school. Any metric used for undergraduate degrees will look like the OP's list for UA. Although the investments in engineering facilities and research will change that in the coming decade. As a graduate of the UA College of Engineering, that's awesome to see. But in the end, UA is still geared towards liberals arts.

Wow - pulling up old rankings in response ..... wait, this is a response thread to: Best College Sports Program in each state? lulz

Wasn't trolling you Aggies, and I'm trying to be as respectful as possible here but .... y'all do realize that Business Week ranking combined ALL sports, revenues, etc., do you not? It wasn't just about football.

I could be wrong, but I want to say that MSU is putting more students into UMMC than Ole Miss. Read it somewhere on the internet, so it must be true.

How is this a response to you're little thread at all Someone sent me a link to the rankings and I posted it on here. The end. It has nothing to do with that list as this is about academics and you're was about athletics in each state. I'm sorry USCe is behind Citadel, Wofford, Clemson, & Furman.

Look at dead last Morris. 25K. That's only a few bucks over minimum wage (hourly).
