That was brutal. But at least it was an early sign that Mullen was about to really turn State around.
2017 State/Bama really sucked too. By far the most competitive State has been against Bama since Croom beat Saban in '07. Bama doinked a field goal late and I thought State was about to drive down the field and win it, or at worst go to overtime. Instead, quick three and out and gave the ball right back to Bama. Gave up a long third down conversion on an all out blitz (thanks Grantham) and then Bama scored on the next play on a pass to a young Devonta Smith.

2013 loss to a pretty bad Tennessee team on a miracle catch and last second FG might have cost SC a national championship, or at least a chance to play for it. That team was loaded.

Miss State vs Alabama 2017. If not for blown call on Ridley stepping out of bounds we should have won that game
