OC Josh Heupel and OL coach Glen Elarbee both leaving for UCF.

Unfortunately, losing an OL coach of that caliber will be a blow that is impossible to recover from for quite some time.

Interesting that he chose to follow Josh Heupel to UCF.

Also saw where they hired Randy Shannon as DC. Really good staff.

They actually looked to have turned a corner midway through the season. They started 1-5, and finished the season by winning their last 5 games, 4 of which were blowouts. They even looked decent against UGA at times, even in a loss.

No they didn't. Look at their opponents on the back half of their schedule.

late 2nd early 3rd. He was born a mizzou kid, he wants to leave with every record in his name here. His family has money, so thats not a big deal. Plus, even with coaching change, we'll be a ton better next year due to talent. Our Oline, WR, and RB units will all be better.

Let's just say they had a tough time stopping Georgia and leave it at that.

we did what a good team would have done to those opponents. Stop acting like we squeezed out those wins.

It's funny, I never thought they could recover from being Safe Space U... funny what playing some decent football will do for your reputation… Just like that it almost feels like they belong in the SEC. I disagree, by the way, 1. UGA 2a.USCe 2b. Mizzou (although UF will be up there pretty quick)

Yeah, they did. Look at their opponents on the front half of the schedule. Missouri State put up 43 on them. They lost 35-3 to Purdue. They lost to Kentucky.

They looked like a completely different team over their last 5 games.

We've been debating this on the team board.

Lock has 1st round tools and arm talent, but many pundits knock the system and what it asks him to do compared to what he'd be asked to do in a pro offense.

IMO if he came out he'd go in the late 1st or early 2nd only because of the other QBs in this class. In a normal class with 2-4 possible 1sr round types, he'd be the darling of pre-draft workout circuit.

Oh yeah, and to Charlotte Sooner... frick off fracker.

Idaho
UCONN
Florida - coach fired
Tennessee - coach fired
Vanderbilt
Arkansas - coach fired

The back of their schedule was full of <.500 teams with drama going on. None of these teams are good on either side of the ball. They should've looked better against those teams.

I thought I had seen him mocked in the first round in some places and plenty of QB's go first round from spread systems if they have an arm like his. I guess I just don't see the benefit of returning. THe system is likely to stay the same.

Shannon is a bag man. He was a bought player at Miami and he has always been the pay window wherever he has been. It is what he is good at. Not trying to disparage him he has an incredible story and is a very fine man. Just the reality in major college football
