We had literally 1 eligible DL and not even 5 OL. Supposedly our secondary also couldn’t fill a 2-deep because of that dumb contact tracing.

LSU had no tight ends, 1 QB, no long snapper, and no backups on the lines. They had a 30 year old punter taking reps at QB who hadn't played that position since he was in high school 12 years ago for goodness sake. There have been many games postponed due to COVID. Not a single team has played with fewer than 53 scholarship players available. The only reason LSU has taken heat is to troll an LSU message board. The Alabama/LSU game is still going to be played, so all the shite-posting about it is really pointless.

No one blamed Florida when they postponed their game with LSU. No one blamed A&M when they postponed their game with Ole Miss. No one blamed Missouri for postponing their game against UGA and wouldn't blame them for postponing their game with USC if they get below the 53 player threshold. Nor should anyone blame any other schools for postponing games when they're simply following protocols set by the conference. The situation is what it is and so is this weird arse season.

I'm still upset our home game against Texas was cancelled and probably won't ever be rescheduled. I'm upset we can't have full capacity at games. I'm upset we can't have any semblance of normalcy with this season. All of it sucks. But there's also nothing myself or anyone else can do about it.

No but it was funny to see LSU fans trying to use the same logic Bama fans used last week when it looked like Arkansas was going to postpone

Did those other teams claim that most the team had covid before the season started?

A claim is just a claim
--------------------------------------------------

and then, when presented with your above noted comment that "a claim is just a claim" you tried to spin away from that to.... "Orgeron stated that "he thought" most of them had Covid before the season. He didn't say he "knew" or that they positively did."

That isn't logical or rational but it is an attempt to spin away from a rational point.

It's like trying to reason with a child.

So in your mind, presenting the actual quote verbatim isn't logical or rational?

I mean after more than a week of that one topic completely dominating the board, what did you exactly expect? Of course LSU fans would use the same exact argument everyone else used against them incessantly. The content of this board is one of the more predictable things ever

when first presented with Orgeron's comment most of our players have caught it you said "a claim is just a claim"

Then when I linked to you your own comment, you tried to spin away from it to "didn't say he "knew" or that they positively did"

If he didn't say "most of our players have caught it" then a lot of journalist misquoted the guy

Let's say most players on the team did catch it during the summer. Most doesn't mean every. Only a few players tested positive before the Alabama game. There are over 100 players (including walk-ons), staff, trainers, etc players are exposed to on a regular basis. Players are only exempt from the contact tracing protocols if they've tested positive within 90 days of having contact (that is quite literally straight from the SEC COVID protocol manual). It's been well over 90 days since Orgeron made that statement, so it's really irrelevant. All the COVID contact tracing data is automatically sent by SEC schools straight to the SEC. What exactly are you trying to do at this point? Trying to pull at strings to prove Orgeron was lying in July because his team fell under mandated COVID protocol in November? Let. It. Go. The game is going to be played.

From Associated Press:
quote:

“I think, not all of our players, but most of our players have caught it,” Orgeron said during a video conference, adding later that he did not know the percentage of the roster that had tested positive.

Associated Press

It was still cute that you tried to use that quote against Orgeron

Muh "he said all of them had it in September"

The notorious low IQ BLG strikes again!

I mean I would agree if Arkansas fans were the ones that were pushing that.

Just a terrible look to moan and cry about it then try to use it against someone else a week later

Every fan base would do the same. Let's not pretend any fan base here is above being hypocritical. Regardless, LSU fans doing that was more tongue and cheek. Kind of like "Does this apply to everyone or does the argument only work when LSU can't play a game?" For instance, had LSU had to cancel a football game due to a Hurricane the week after the Florida/LSU game was postponed in 2016, do you really think Florida fans (and everyone else on this board for that matter) wouldn't have used the same exact arguments and talking points LSU fans had used the week prior? I think you know the answer to that

I, personally, stayed away from this board for a couple weeks because it became an utter shite show of embarrassment coming from all sides and was pointless to even try to have a legitimate discussion about anything.

your own copy and paste proves that he did in fact say... most of our players have caught it

Even Orgeron isn't so stupid that he doesn't know what "most" means. It could mean 51%, it could mean 63%, it could mean 70%s, but I suppose even he is bright enough to know that "most" is more than half. You, on the other hand, may not be.

Percentage doesn't even matter, though, because the point is that when the other Alabama fan mentioned Orgeron's comments you said "a claim is a claim" which alludes to the point that it wasn't so. Now, though, you are trying to spin away from your own comment to another one that...well he didn't really say it.

He said it, and now you're trying to spin away from it, which isn't a rational or logical discussion.

You are one ignorant fellow. Maybe you should have attended LSU rather than cheering from the sidewalk. Surely they teach logic there.

To a certain degree but there are some that lean way more into it

Some but there is example on the board right now that is more in line with the trolls from Bama last week

The main thing I saw was the "we haven't canceled a game yet" thread which is dumb but a different topic

I'm sure there was at least a few hogs in that really long topic

I just saw Mizzou is sitting right at 53 players. Two of our starting OL are traveling for emergency use only which means they are hurt. And our best interior DT might not even travel and he is counted towards the 53. So realistically we are sitting at 50.

We had a WR opt out two days ago I think as well. So that hurt the numbers as well.

Looks like we are determined to play this game as well as SC is. Good pre season game basically. I just hope both teams make it out with no injuries. Just playing this game is a W no matter who wins.
