Missouri's last 5 years in the Big 12. One win away from the National Championship in 2007 & 2010. Seems pretty relevant to me. Oklahoma was Gary Pinkel's Kryptonite. Before Gary Pinkel, I will give you the not relevant take though.

Year: 2011
Record: 8-5
Conference Record: 5-4
Finish: 5th
Bowl Game: Independence Bowl

Year: 2010
Record: 10-3
Conference Record: 6-2
Finish: T-1st (Big 12 North Co-Champions)
Bowl Game: Insight Bowl

Year: 2009
Record: 8-5
Conference Record: 4-4
Finish: 2nd
Bowl Game: Texas Bowl

Year: 2008
Record: 10-4
Conference Record: 5-3
Finish: 1st (Big 12 North Champions)
Bowl Game: Alamo Bowl

Year: 2007
Record: 12-2
Conference Record: 7-1
Finish: 1st (Big 12 North Champions)

I read a good piece by Gabe of powermizzou about Mizzou baseball and I feel like it is spot on if you SEC folk were curious why Mizzou sucks at baseball. Below is part of the piece. I personally do not follow college ball at all but it has never really even ever been mentioned growing up in the KC area. It was Royals or Cardinals or nothing.

The Royals are looking good so far. Too early in the season to be to sure but there is a lot of hype starting to build in KC.

"When Mizzou moved to the SEC, everyone focused on how tough the move would be for football. That's certainly understandable. But I said at the time if Mizzou football was jumping into the deep end of the pool, Mizzou baseball was stepping off a cliff. Kentucky, Mizzou and Alabama are the only SEC teams not to have been to the College World Series since 2000 (Bama last went in 1999, Mizzou in 1964 and Kentucky never).

There are a multitude of reasons (recruiting base, geography, weather, history, etc) it's tough for Missouri in this league. But the main reason is very simple: Everyone else cares more.

This isn't an insult to the fans. Part of it is fans, sure, but I'm not trying to take shots at anyone. College baseball simply isn't a thing that is important at Mizzou.

Football obviously runs the show at every SEC school. But the key is, what's second? I'd argue at at least half the schools in the conference, it's baseball. Here are the schools I think care more about baseball than men's hoops: South Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, LSU, Georgia, Vanderbilt. I think it's debatable at Florida, Auburn and maybe even Alabama. You look around the league and there are a lot of media corps covering every game, tweeting updates every inning. That's the expectation at most of the schools in the SEC. It just isn't and never really has been here.

I went back and looked at the 2007 Super Regional against Louisville. Missouri's three-game attendance for that series was 9459. That included two sellouts of 3630 and then a game three crowd of 2199 because it was played on a weekday afternoon if memory serves. So that was pretty good. It was as packed as Taylor Stadium has ever been. Ole Miss vs Mississippi State drew 10,500 fans on Sunday. For a regular season game in Starkville. I'm not blaming the fans. I'm not saying if more people showed up it would make the program better. But it's an illustration that it's just not a thing that's important to Mizzou fans. Baseball has a pocket of fans. Those that care really care. It's just not all that many, especially when you compare it to other teams in the league.

The buy in from the administration has never really been there either (getting the field turfed, which was something Steve Bieser wanted when he took the job, was a multi-year project, even though it could have been covered by pretty much any of the seven-figure checks that have come in for the new football facility this year alone). And I'm not blaming the administration either. Why spend more money and resources on something that your fans have told you they largely don't care that much about?

It's a tough deal. You can't win without spending money, but it doesn't make much sense to spend money when you aren't winning and probably aren't going to win. For now, if you can avoid negative headlines, be somewhat competitive and make the NCAA Tournament once every few years, that's probably good enough for Mizzou baseball. Whether that's good enough for each individual person is up to them, but it's pretty much been shown the realistic expectations aren't much higher than that for the program."

Since the dramatic Y2K event in 2000, kansas football is 78-171 (this includes their best team ever in 2007 which went 12-1 and lost to their rival Mizzou, which was a better team)

6 conference wins in a DECADE 2010-2020

If they got Muschamp that would be a great hire for them. Literally anything is better than what they have had. The talent level will scare away most though.
The SEC picked us up after our worst coaching hire ever. Before that we were consistently ranked and a top 30 bball program for a long stretch. Happens.
I got you. I will cover for one of those cowards.... and it is pretty funny. I like the cleat
We have beaten that Illinois team with the same players basically two years in a row on a neutral court.. but this year we can't with basically the same roster we had that is better this year   makes sense
I just saw Mizzou is sitting right at 53 players. Two of our starting OL are traveling for emergency use only which means they are hurt. And our best interior DT might not even travel and he is counted towards the 53. So realistically we are sitting at 50.

We had a WR opt out two days ago I think as well. So that hurt the numbers as well.

Looks like we are determined to play this game as well as SC is. Good pre season game basically. I just hope both teams make it out with no injuries. Just playing this game is a W no matter who wins.
Why is Mizzou on your mind?

We like Odom. He is Mizzou alumni...

He is a bad head coach and a good coordinator. This thread is terrible.
I don't know how anyone could pick kansas to win a single game against anyone in the P5.

They might give some FCS teams some trouble but even then they are losing a majority of those games as well. I don't think people realize how bad they have been. And I am not even trolling.
You can never put an SEC team in the same category as kansas football. That is the worst P5 football program for over a decade and it is not really close. I take offense for SC. Arkansas's run of no SEC wins doesn't even compare to how bad kansas is.... and that is saying something.

Since 2010 kansas has...... 21 wins TOTAL. An average of 2 wins a season.

:bwahaha:
A&M trying to troll Mizzou. That is funny. Since 2000 A&M vs Mizzou 2-8

11/15/2014 College Station 27 to 34 MIZ
11/30/2013 Columbia 21 to 28 MIZ
11/24/2012 College Station 59 to 29 A&M
10/29/2011 College Station 31 to 38 MIZ
10/16/2010 College Station 9 to 30 MIZ
11/10/2007 Columbia 26 to 40 MIZ
10/14/2006 College Station 25 to 19 A&M
11/15/2003 Columbia 22 to 45 MIZ
11/16/2002 College Station 27 to 33 MIZ
I mean we get you every year so we get Vandy twice basically.
If Connor Bazelak can play consistently as good as he did last time out and our WRs don't drop passes we have a chance to win most of our games and or keep them all close. Mizzou is getting better by the week. They didn't have much time with the new coaching staff like you usually do before a season.

Kentucky just needs to run the ball like they do and they most likely will win if they don't turn the ball over.

this is all the proof you need

Current win streak: Missouri, 4 (2016–present)
Latest meeting: November 29, 2019; Missouri 24, Arkansas 14
All-time series: Missouri leads, 8–3
Largest victory: Missouri, 38–0 (2018)
Mizzou has been within one win of the National Championship game 3 times in the past 20 years. Most of you wouldn't know that but keep living in your little bubbles.
Anyone with a brain knows we have a new coaching staff in the hardest year to become a new coach. Everyone is learning as they go. We just found our starting QB in week 3. Each week this team is going to get better and better. This whole year is a wash and is more like a 10 game preseason for next year.

Nevermind... figured it out. Never heard of it.. and from the looks of the website I am glad I have not. 100% just trying to be idiots to promote their podcast I am sure.
