Hey they could have gotten Maryland, about same population, better athletics, better facilities, better off financially even though the Big Ten is paying for their travel expenses if needs be. And they are a TRUE southern state. SEC fumbled the ball on this expansion deal.

Sorry you all (y'all) got trolled.
Keep the paychecks coming.

I'm just laughing at these frickers, they act like Mizzou is costing the SEC financially. Big Ten invited Maryland for more $$$$$$ but in turn having to help Maryland out with travel expenses. SEC fans act like they can just get ANY school to join.....reality check, a lot of schools don't WANT to join the SEC because they know 6-7 SEC schools let ANY 4-5* brotha into their school that can write his name and remember his address. Any honest person down in DIXIE will tell you the truth.
There's a reason when UT joined the Big 12 they put a stop to the shite that was going on at Colorado, K-State, Nebraska, OU. Remember how Nebraska and Colorado use to get kids out the hood from Cali, players throwing up gang signs, etc?? Noticed how things turned around for those schools when the conference got tough on the academic side in regards to the athletes. Most SEC schools let anyone in. Mizzou is not putting up with that shite.
There's a reason why a lot of their back up players and starting players on defense "looked" different than most SEC schools. Some SEC football teams look like they're made up of a bunch of SWAC players with the exception of the QB, few OL, punter, kicker. Yes lets keep it real. Mizzou can get all the players out of the STL and KC areas if they want, but those schools are "bad", players won't be able to cut it in the class room. I can remember KCMO school district losing accreditation. Like I said we all know what the education level down south is like, how certain groups are waaaay behind, but frick that as long as you can play football really really good, can read on a 8th grade level and write you'll get into their "best" universities. Mizzou is not going to go after those types of players. That's the reason why Mizzou didn't have much speed, slower, no dept, etc. Instead of beating our chests we can have a REAL discussion on the types of players getting into some of these schools. Then we wonder why players are getting kicked off the team for robbery, stealing, failing 10 drug tests, etc.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. Hell no. Mizzou already told B1G not interested once when they asked if Mizzou would be interested in junior membership. That ship has sailed and Delaney was responsible for the fallout.
Mizzou will never contemplate the B1G after joining the SEC unless something drastic happens to kill the SEC.

I'd be curious to hear what you think your current membership status is in the SEC if you thought the B1G offered junior membership

It meant taking a conference revenue cut going from the big12 to the B1G. I think Mizzou (same for Nebraska) would have only been eligible for a 50% (maybe less) payout for the first 5-7 years.
Mizzou was coming from a conference that treated members differently. That was a huge no-no for Mizzou admins. Mizzou has always felt all conference members should be treated equally. The move wasn't about athletic performance on the fields/courts. Mizzou will be competitive wherever it went. it will take some time in the SEC, but Mizzou isn't going to be a doormat every year.

I can remember Freddie Coleman asking how do people with LOW wonderlic scores get into these flagship schools. He even said something about the NCAA should look into that crap.
You do realize that players take the Wonderlic for the NFL combine, correct? For entrance into college they take the ACT or SAT exams.
BTW, Missouri isn't in the B1G because the B1G didn't want Missouri, not the other way around.

Well buy golly, I wishes I wuddas knews that.

Coleman was referring to if these players can't make a good grade on a SIMPLE test that asks SIMPLE questions how in the hell are they making it at Major Universities and staying eligible to play college football. Then take a wonderlic test and can't do simple problem solving questions, math problems, reading comprehension sucks.
Test sample.

Welp . . . apparently Mizzou is not the obvious choice
Either way there's no way in hell Vandy would leave the SEC so I'm sure Mizzou will eventually receive a late night booty call from Delany

Gawd you fockers are stupid...
Mizzou was offered a Junior membership in the B10 and they turned it down. Nebraska jumped on that offer.
Mizzou is a full member of the SEC cashing big boy checks.
Spinning it any other way just shows how ignorant the rant is at times.

Jimmie Rustled.
Of course the Big 10 would want Mizzou if they had it to do over again. Delaney wasn't serious about going to 14 back then. Only after Mizzou and A&M came to the SEC did Delaney get serious.

The situation isn't any different than it is back when we were talking and being offered junior membership. Makes sense.
Your original question wasn't whether Mizzou was the obvious choice, it's whether Mizzou should answer if they call.
Answer is yes.

And this will be the feeling for at least the next decade.
Mizzou is one of a handful of schools that could go either way. There aren't many teams that would fit easily into two different conferences. Mizzou would fit into 3.
Arkansas has always been perceived that way, except that we rebuffed Big12 advances several times and never had any interest in it once we got here.
