That sounds racist.

Personally if you make over X amount in NIL deals, transferring should be harder for that said player.

Use that and then have the NIL deals paid out over the collegiate lifetime or until you’re draft eligible. If you transfer say, after your freshman year, you automatically lose the later 2/3rds of the deal. No lump sum shite paid up front.

But yea. I’d say anything over $100k offered, you can’t transfer out or you automatically sit a year.

Nothing will change. You and I are discussing things on a message board.
Who is to say that I'm not Nolan Smith's uncle or former position coach and you are not a marketing rep for Kroger.
Good luck

NIL is outside the scope of the universities to do anything.

Gillete may be the official sponsor of the NFL and New England Patriots.
But Gillete, the NFL, and the Patriots cannot legally prevent David Andrews from endorsing Norelco.

It isn't just colleges. Name, image, and likeness is a separate entity.

Explain?

"Trading players" sounds racist to me.
"Transfer fees" sounds racist to me.

Grad transfers with immediate eligibility has been around as long as I have followed college football.

Explain.

808 said his locker was cleared out right after the Arky game.

You shouldn’t be able to sniff a player until the college playoffs have ended. Not a whisper of contact without massive penalties and loss of scholarships.

He has something lined up already.

This 100x.

Personally, I'd say until after early NSD, this gives the other team a chance to fill the holes on their roster with new recruits. But in season contact should be strictly verboten. Let me put this scenario in play (not saying it's what happened here.) What if said player goes to a school that's on their schedule? That gets VERY murky. Like an 8 men out sort of situation...

If Universities had not been selling jerseys with player names and numbers on them (and other player-specific products), this would not have been an issue.

Just make them all sit a year in every case. Fixed. Move on.

I kinda hate it for Mizzou. Tennessee was gutted by transfers a few seasons ago. We could use him though

He's a great player. Apparently we have a big package for him, and he said he would return, no ill towards mizzou. he just wants more money.

The solution is fixing the transfer rule. 1 season "sit-out" for all under-grad transfers. If a player wants to leave, he/she can leave. They just can't play right away unless they have their diploma. It will make the diploma much more valuable ($$$).

I’m sure this solution would be tied up in the courts to also.

The sad reality is a lot of these kids come from boken homes or neighborhoods. Flash a lot of money in front of a kid and that is all it takes.

I hate it, but I get it. Mizzou will land somebody....we always do.

Mizzou is going to deal with this from time to time, we presently just don't have the NIL money that the heavyweights enjoy. Is what it is, can't blame the kid for going to get paid.

NIL contracts cannot stipulate any actual pay to play rules in their contracts. It is a contract to use the name, image and likeness of the student athlete in advertising in exchange for compensation. So it's more like 10 radio spots at $500 and it doesnt matter if the player plays or doesn't play, they are paid for the radio spots.
