It's kind of sad if you get Schadenfreude from seeing an already subpar athletic program like Missouri lose

As a Missouri fan, I am happy that he has Jayhawks basketball. As with all kU fans, it is all they have.
Some of them even have to live in kansas.

Honest to God, why do KS and MO have such a huge rivarly? Not just in sports, but it appears to me the residents of both states hold some sort of grudge between each other. Does this go all the way back to Bloody Kansas in the late 1850s?
Tennessee has a friendly sports rivalry with KY and AL, and sometimes Tennesseans and Alabamians throw shade at each other, but at the end of the day we like each other. Kansans and Missourians seem to flat out hate each other. It's weird. Y'all are pretty much the same state to the rest of the Union.

Put it this way, when traveling down I-70, if I see a beaker plate or even a kansas plate, my blood pressure goes up and I instantly think ill of the person. No other state is like that. I truly could care less if kansas fell of the face of the earth, once my cousin and his family got out and we found some way to move the Nascar track across the state line.

Jesus Christ, 7 years later and this guy is STILL sitting in his car outside our house to see if we come home from the bar with another girl! It’s seriously kind of sad, I almost feel bad for him. I mean I know Kansas is lame as hell, void of any major city whatsoever, no sports teams, christ not even an amusement park like a Six Flags, but holy hell. You’d think you’d find SOMETHING else to do with your life in 7 years!

Special I’ll answer this for you! Actually my ancestors were involved in this. Long story short, Missouri was a split state during the Civil War, Kansas was Union. We had Guerrilla groups fighting the Union troops in Missouri and the Jayhawkers who were Union troops from Kansas. The Pansy arse Jayhawkers were raiding towns trying to kill off the soldiers and were raping and torturing woman and children. Burning their feet to get confessions. So they took all of the woman relatives from Osceola, looted and burned farms and put the woman in a jail in Kansas City which ended up collapsing killing a bunch of them. When William Quantrills raiders returned (which included Jesse and Frank James) they sought revenge. So they set a plan and headed for Lawrence. Attacked at 5am, killed all the soldiers, and then every male in town, looted the banks and stores, and set it on fire. Ever since then, we hate them, and they hate us!

All the Missouri folk here clearly came from the Union side of the Missouri split based on their posts, so I'd think they were ashamed of the happenings during Bloody Kansas.
They must despise the Missourians who perpetrated it - being that they were traitorous Confederates.

We're a weird state. I grew up in the NE corner, and we're basically Iowa, the SW corner is basically the bible belt, the bootheel is basically Mississippi, and then you've got two metropolitan areas. We're all over the place.
Except we all hate kansas. God that place sucks.

I frickin love the Missouri/Kansas rivalry. Any hatred that goes back to a literal battle between states immediately jumps to the top of my board.
