Missouri should honor the 1976 team that went (6-5-0)

Fiftieth anniversary of a squad that could defeat some heavyweights yet lose to some lightweights. For any Missouri fan to experience this period, my goodness what a weird season!

Pretty typical of Missouri teams in the 1970s. They were hell on out of conference powerhouse teams in that decade.... but would lose to the dregs of the Big 8.
They beat Alabama and Notre Dame during that decade as well.

The "concern" is noted.
The series is 1-1 since you joined the SEC.

You sound upset when, really, he sounds like any Mizzy fan on this website that just enjoyed seven or eight wins.
Only difference is he has an OU by his name.

70s Mizzou Tigers were giant killers. Al Onofrio was a great defensive coach who could pull off some dandies...and duds. Drink's Mizzou Tigers ain't killed too many giants, but he's avoided the duds for the most part. He's going to have to kill a giant or two this year though.

Those were some schizophrenic teams for sure.

Still couldn't beat OU.... Or Kansas.

Warren Powers was told straight up he was being fired because he couldn't beat Kansas. And then Babs showed up.

Nobody really expected to beat OU in those days, but losing to kansas was unforgivable and ultimately cost Onofrio his job.
