Just so you MISERY fans know, a HUGE portion of people that go off to school at The Univ of ARKANSAS are coming from areas far from the NW Arkansas area (ie. DFW, OK City, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Tulsa).
This is due to the fact that the state of Texas has a tuition deal with our bordering states, (OK,LA,NM,AR) which allows their respective state colleges to accept our Texas HS graduates as in-State admits, rather than as out-of-state admits. This is a very persuasive incentive.
My HS graduating class in 1997 had over 50 people that went off to the University of Arkansas.
So my point, is that I feel as if "most" Mizzoury fans think of Arkansas fans as backwoods, frog gigg'n, rabbit shoot'n hicks who "surely" have no grasp of things in this world that are "fancy, shiny, purdy..."
But, I digress.
I know what modern infrastructure, art, and commerce looks like at its best. I'm from Dallas-Fort Worth. 4th largest metro area in the country.
So, I assure you. The NW Arkansas metropolitan area can play with the big boys.
Oh, and BTW...
I've been to the following museums on your list:
Cleveland (twice)
Dallas (been at least 20+ times)
Houston MFA (once)
Boston MFA (once)
The Met (once)
Guggenheim (been twice)
None of them were better, save the Guggenheim...

Arkansas and museum; I am really struggling with that concept. I normally think of "tooth" when I think of Arkansas.

Culture in Arkansas consists of pouring your Milwaukee's best into a glass.

Missouri is included too. Wasn't that program started because the University of Arkansas was trying to be a less backwoods/hick/dumb university and couldn't do it with the products of the Arkansas public education system being the only people given incentive to attend the university?

we are talking about NWA, not ALL of the state.
WHO cares about anything south or east of the NWA region.

Some Arkansas fans started claiming their art museum is in the top 5 of the country. And one also claimed that they were among the top 10 places in the world to visit.

To each his own, perhaps.
I majored in history, so I do appreciate quality art, and enjoy reading up on art history, believe it or not. I think there were great collections at each of the locations listed by the Missouri poster. However, I did not see a CLEAR CUT distinction between the Crystal Bridge art museum and the others which I had seen before visiting it last year.

I posted a question asking for advice on a roadtrip. 30 fricking pages of arguing populations and who has the nicest parking lots.
You ever been to COMO or Arkansas?

In summation
Fayetteville is smaller than Columbia
NWA is bigger than Columbia
Columbia has no adjacent incorporated areas
Fayetteville is much more scenic
Fayetteville has outdoor recreation by the boatload, Columbia offers an indoor rec center similar to your average YMCA
Fayetteville restaurants are far superior
DWRRS is a superior stadium to Faurot
Fayetteville will not freeze your balls off if its a November game, Columbia will
Fayetteville campus is largely superior and you can walk to the bars from the stadium. Columbia not so much
Fayetteville's downtown bar district has grown smartly with urban infill, Columbia's downtown hallmark is a monster parking garage
Fayetteville and Columbia crime are about equal per capita, with Columbia's sharply on the rise
Visiting Fayetteville will allow you to visit a world class art museum, Columbia offers nothing in the way of art or culture.
Missouri fans are still upset about how NWA has the better Waltons
Nice Southern folks reside in Fayetteville. Columbia has the southern culture equivalent of the north pole
Columbia residents are prone to launching into "toothless redneck" jokes when outmaneuvered by links and facts
I will leave you with this

I agree with all that, except I have frozen my balls off plenty in November in Fayetteville. Last year's LSU game comes to mind. About 9 years ago against Kentucky I thought I was going to die, it was only in the forties but was raining with a 30 mph wind...once I eventually got soaked through I nearly froze. I would much rather go to a game in actual cold than cool with rain and wind. I went to a December game in Lambeau that would be in my top five but not as cold as that Kentucky game.

Fayetteville might be colder than Columbia due to elevation.

Looks like these Arkansas tools are still talking shite in an already lost battle.
