Wrong. Go watch the tape.

I think the crowd played a big factor too. He was very clearly rattled and they had multiple false starts and miscommunication issues early

Well yeah. "Ring responsibly" is the biggest myth in the conference. The other 14 schools just don't care because you never beat them. The false starts in the red zone were directly tied to cowbells.

It’s a conference only rule so no “ring responsibly” required for ASU.

and we absolutely do follow that rule in conference play. It’s actually shocking to me how we have been able to get our fans to stop ringing once center gets over the ball.

It is an NCAA rule that you can't have artificial noisemakers.

What a fricking brain dead comment.

Well you are wrong

quote:

First off, artificial crowd noise is allowed in football stadiums by the NCAA.

From the NCAA Playing Rules Summary: Artificial crowd noise, by conference policy or mutual consent of the institutions, is allowed. The noise level must be consistent throughout the game for both teams. However, all current rules remain in effect dealing with bands, music and other sounds. When the snap is imminent, the band/music must stop playing. As with all administrative rules, the referee may stop the game and direct game management to adjust.

quote:

in 2010, the schools amended the rule. From Mississippi State Athletics: That spring, the 12 schools of the SEC agreed to a compromise on artificial noisemakers, acknowledging the role cowbells play in the history of Mississippi State University by amending the conference by-law. In the fall of 2010, on a one-year trial with specified restrictions, cowbells were permitted in Davis Wade Stadium for the first time in 36 years. And due to MSU fans' notable adherence to the rules outlined by the league, cowbells have been allowed at MSU home football games since with similar restrictions in place. As of now, the current amendment allows “the use of institutionally controlled, computerized sound systems (including music), institutionally controlled artificial noisemakers, and traditional institutional noisemakers at any time, except from the time the offensive center is over the football until the play is whistled dead.”

Yeah this was not happening at all. You were breaking the rule all night.

The fact y'all don't realize they let you have the cowbells because you are half a notch above Vandy in the conference is hilarious to me. Beat Texas or Bama at home and the cowbells will be gone. Problem is it wont ever happen.

Eventually the “right team” is going to complain about it and force a change. And it will likely be someone like Texas when they play there and y’all impact them being able to communicate. May not be this year but I think in my lifetime we will see them banned.

I do agree with you on that. I could see them being banned again within the next decade or so.

Whatever, I’m one of the rare state fans that actually doesn’t love the cowbells. I haven’t carried one to a game since I was a freshmen many years ago. I do have my grandads he passed down to me from a long time ago and it sits in my office as a cool memorabilia piece

And that's a problem how? It's like you are suggesting that is not part of the game or that they are explosive by accident.

Here is what I saw. A dominate team early on. The only reason ASU was back in it was due to a key player for them going down. in the middle of that line and not returning.

That shows some depth issues for sure.

You know, Auburn and State don't play each other this year.

I'm just saying, we could make the most epic thing ever happen!

We have some feistiness that we have not had since Leach was still here. But we are no threat to win more than 4 to 6 games still. It is not out of the question that we start 4-0 and then lose 8 straight.

Does not help that our best DL was possibly lost for the season on Saturday, too. ASU ran it down our throat the entire second half.

I think we can get to a good point offensively but the OL and running game has to step up. Nobody is going to play zero deep coverage against us like ASU just did, not after it cost them the game like that. I expect to see a lot of two deep safeties to try and make us sustain drives with a shaky OL.
