This is the year that the defense he inherited are all in their last year. The defense will drastically drop off next year.

So yeah this is their chance.

I'm pretty sure this is a falsehood.

What is false about it?

According to their depth chart 20 of the 22 are Jrs or Srs. (2 deep defense)

14 are R-Srs Gr or 5th years.

State has recruited well on the defensive side of the ball. Particularly linebacker. But they have a couple of young guys they really like on the DL and some studs in the secondary. They're redshirting guys that in previous years would be on the field playing right now.

But you don't need to worry about any of that.

Only 6 of the 22 in the 2 deep are Leach recruits. He is living off what he inherited. Good luck.

This is, as a matter of fact, incorrect. But I'm not surprised you guys are so obsessed that you're combing through State's two deep.

You know all about some of our guys coming up on defense, because Kiffin wanted them and didn't get them. Ty Cooper, Trevion Williams, John Lewis, etc.

State's gonna be fine, contrary to your hopes and prayers.

State's winning the West this year. Pretty obvious to anyone who has watched the games.

Alabama: Bryce Young injury - done
LSU: They can't have many miraculous comebacks left in them - done
Ole Miss: Had to have many miracles to beat Kentucky, plus they had to bounty gate Tulsa's QB to win that one - done
Texas A&M: lol
Auburn: lol
Arkansas: lol

Unfortunately for miss state, this is their very experienced team. Next year they lose a ton of their defensive talent next year. Sucks the year they are good they play Georgia.

lol I spent 2 minutes at work bored looking through it. Only 6 are RS So or younger, JC, or transfers. You explain that to me how they are Leach recruits.

Covid 19. Any other questions?

And?

Again, Covid-19.

One of those has been injured all year right. He may not get 4 games in.

This is their covid year. They have been on the roster since before ML got the job. They won't be there next year. What are you missing?

He doesn't recruit defense and the defense will fall off in talent level once the roster he inherited out of eligibility.

If it’s not 8-9 wins then people will start running their mouth about it. Probably the usual talking heads.

But we have one of the most difficult schedules in FBS. Hell… if not THE most difficult when it shakes out.

If we win 9 games this year, Mike Leach could shite on the hood of my car and I wouldn’t care. The road to get there would have some pretty big highs along the way.

So your argument is that Mike Leach is only succeeding due to Joe Moorhead's elite recruiting?

State has had a recruiting pipeline that has locked down 4-6 top players in state for years and years. They get on them early and hold onto them. All their eggs in that basket.

Since ML has gotten there and his lack of giving a frick about defense and NIL changes, this is no longer happening. If State can't lock down the 2-3 defensive players they live off of in state every year they are fricked.

State not being able to compete in NIL + ML not giving a frick about recruiting = huge fall off on that side of the ball when the inherited talent is gone.
