quote:
Sept. 1 Jackson State
Sept. 8 Auburn
Sept. 15 @ Troy
Sept. 22 South Alabama
Oct. 6 @ Kentucky
Oct. 13 Tennessee
Oct. 20 Middle Tennessee
If they can get by Auburn, they have a good chance of being 7-0 through this stretch.
quote:
Oct. 27 @ Alabama
Nov. 3 Texas A&M
Nov. 10 @ LSU
Nov. 17 Arkansas
Then it gets harder. Winning even one of these four will be tough, more than that is unlikely.
quote:
Nov. 24 @ Ole Miss
A chance to recover and break the losing streak, if there is one.
quote:
I think we go 7-5
I think 8-4 is more likely, and 9-3 is not unrealistic. You could not have asked for a better draw from the east with Kentucky and Tennessee. Your three SEC West games that are tough but winnable (Auburn, A&M, Arkie) are all at home. You get LSU and Bama on the road, which is OK because you wouldn't beat them at home anyway. Your other two SEC road games are against your weakest opponents (Ole Miss and Kentucky).
I'd say this schedule stacks up as well as it could for a team playing in the SEC West.

2012 will be the best defense we have put on the field under Mullen- you're about to see his so-called "shitty recruiting" has been better than most realize
Flashbacks to 2011.... insert offense for defense and I guarantee you made this exact post.

Anyone who can't see why we schedule like this is just ignorant. We are at an important time for MSU football. A step back this year would really hurt. Not going to a bowl game this year would be terrible. We have to get a couple more top 25 classes and a couple more bowl games under our belt before we start swingin our dicks with the scheduling. We have too much momentum right now to add another difficult team to the schedule. I can see how someone like diamondawg would want to not see three shite games in a season though. The Troy game away is the equilavent of playing a real school. They are always tough and we'll be at their place and our players are gonna have a hard time getting up for it. That game scares the shite outta me. That being said, we will start 7-0 this year. Don't look at me. It's science. Sorry for grinding.
Alabama/LSU fans etc getting on here telling us how our schedule is stupid. Like we're supposed to handle our schedule the same way as them. We are not the same program and our scheduling shouldn't be the same.
Good post....
Even though I support LSU, I really believe this will be the year of the Dawgs......I thought Diaz was why the D was good at State. Now my thinking is the DC they have now was the key. His recruiting skills for the D is really going to show this year.
State will upset one or more teams they are not to beat...I look for State to Beat Au and Arky and give Bama and LSU a scare...then maybe those that down State so much will shut up. They criticize State and Mullins so to keep them down in rankings. They are scared of State and only hope they don't rise. It won't take much. Sherrill got them to the SEC C game, so it's there. Mullens will bring them back........

Why does MSU play the lamest, weakest non-conference schedule possible every year?

Hmmm If MSU can beat Aubie they should be 5-0 rolling into UT right?
could be 7-0 rolling into Bama?
and then the season ends
I'm calling 8 wins for the bullies

Son, it was just 2/3 years ago State's schedule was # 1 in the nation, by a large margin. So get out with that bullshite talk.

We can do better than scheduling Jackson State and a team that has been playing football for 2 or 3 years and still get wins. It's just a ridiculous schedule.

All four of the Patsies @ home, if that is the case it sucks for season ticket holders
