Mainieri wins at a high enough percentage to keep his job. Post season success is mediocre but he won a title in 2009. Cannot compare Mainieri to Bertman or Auggie Garrido or Ray Tanner. Everybody down south is investing in facilities and baseball.
In 1987, you basically had 12 teams competing for a National Title Run. Today, that number may be around 25-30. Parity is alive. Ask Coastal Carolina.
