Regrets?

I’m hoping and praying that’s true and that his kids are all coming there just as a precaution instead of it being a for sure “final goodbye”. Still an extremely horrible situation but that’s the only hopeful news I’ve seen the last 24 hours.

My dad had something similar happen. Tried the heart cath, but that didn't work, so they cracked his chest and did a quadruple bypass.

None of us realized that he had a lot of other comorbidities, including diminished kidney function and prostate swelling that he chose to treat with medicine instead of the recommended surgical procedure. The stopped the meds (prostate, blood thinner, etc) for the surgery, which caused the prostate to swell and limit urine flow, thereby stressing the kidneys, who were already shite from the anesthesia, and then he developed a-fib, leading to dislodged clots (no more thinners and he's lying there on the bed - prime time for clots) and then strokes.

He was out of his mind for a week or so. Eventually regained his senses and had a somewhat normal few months. No way someone in that situation could ever return to work, particularly not in stressful job like that of an SEC HFBC. The one-thing-leads-to-another cycle killed my dad within six months' time. There just is not a lot the docs can do when so many different things go wrong at the same time.

College football is better with Mike Leach a part of it.

Yea the update from the r/CFB sounds way worse than that tweet

I just read that he had a stroke yesterday and has passed.

Yeah I trust you, I’m just putting the context clues together and realizing that you are a source that’s probably more clued in than some of these people.

Just think people want hope and I get it. It’s tough to process this information. Hard to truly think it’s real. I understand why. Hopefully soon a joint statement can be released by UMMC/family.

When we were setting up the POA and wills for my parents the lawyer made a similar comment about living wills. Said he would make whatever my folks asked for, but if they believed that they could trust their kids or siblings he recommended a durable POA because the living will can't possibly account for millions of possibilities and with that in mind it made better sense to have someone you trust there to weigh all the options/possibilities before pulling the plug or refusing to plug it in.

Of course, my middle sister and I are listed on my mother's POA. The stripper/truck driver sister with the three kids by three different guys (soooo many great stories, check my post history for some of them on the OT), is not included in any of those decisions.
