Leach has been a Coach at two P5 teams over 18 years with a 60% winning overall.
That is a large enough sample to say he is a good coach and not overrated.

Fun fact: Kyle is the most prevalent male name for the LGBTQ,etc. community.
Sorry for the AIDS.

Jawja seems to overpay for those recruits every year. So we're even.
Go pinch a finger off in a folding chair while pillow fighting for the SEC Least division title.
But muh, "Herschel Walker."
The Georgia Bulldogs: Sorry as Chalky Dog shite
The Leach finna eat.

Considering the timing of the firing/hiring, he was about the best you could get without getting one of the untouchable guys (Briles, Freeze). Veteran coach will bring credibility and some offense. If he doesn't let the defense fall off of the planet, they'll compete for 3rd in the division.

Leach is the most overrated coach in the history of College Football.

4-1 vs Gus...what does that make him?

Leach is heinously overrated, and that’s not because he’s a bad coach per se, just because he’s so highly regarded by the easily entertained “OMG he posted a gif on Twitter!!! What a card!!!” types...
Imagine, if you would, they gave a guy named Don Henkleman 5M per who was coming off the exact same 6-7 season Leach just had. What would the reaction to that be? I’m kind of doubting the majority of this forum would be slobbering on Don’s knob for days.

Not even close.
That’s my biggest concern for them.
And you’re talking to someone who lived in northern MS three of the last six years.
A guy like Les Miles?
He would’ve been money.
Or Larry Fedora. Or Seth Littrell. Or Josh Heupel.
State is amongst my top favorite teams in the SEC, so I wish them success (we need different teams at the top of the division) and hope my gut instincts are dead wrong.
But the theatrics over this hire have long surpassed silly, and the trigger was only just pulled.
I just don’t want them to end up with buyers’ remorse.
But I’m a worrier by nature

Aye, Dios mio.

Leach was in Lubbock and Pullman. Not like they’re bringing in some dude from San Francisco

Spot on OP. On the Gamecock board fans are upset we didn’t fire Champ to hire Leach. Champ might not be getting it done, but Leach is incredibly average.

I like Leach and his fun persona, but you are right.
They guy is overrated and Spears was spot on saying everyone was excited for Leach for all reasons that weren’t related to playing the game.

Hey, I'll give him this much...he'll last longer than the last Washington State coach to come to the SEC.

His coaching job in last quarter and a half of his meltdown vs. UCLA...a team that only won three other games all year...was historic in terms of stupidity, and literally every fan base here would be kicking and screaming for his firing if he had been their coach.

Will Muschamp would never blow a 32 point lead in the last 20 minutes of a game...at home...to a team that only won 3 other games all year because he stubbornly refused to run the ball, and you can absolutely take that to the bank.

In his 10 years at Texas Tech, Leach won 8 games or more 8 times. Since he left in 2009, TT has won 8 games twice.
In his 7 years as WSU, he won 8 or more games 4 times. In the previous 7 years to his arrival, WSU never won more than 6.
One of these teams is just over .500 for their existence, the other is below. Stop acting like he was coaching where its manageable to get good players.
