The NCAA established a precedent now. It is well worth the consequences to cheat and win a national championship.

I've said it in multiple threads.
The punishment doesn't fit the crime, but now everyone knows the crimes did in fact occur and tarnishes everything.
It's not what the penalty should have been, but I'm satisfied that everyone now agrees they cheated bigtime

I mean I guess as long as you're willing to fire your coach when he gets a 10 year show cause dropped on him.

That's not essentially what a 'show cause' means from my understanding.

If tweet fails to load, click here. I perceive it as, the school has to come up with a good reason on how they can act with integrity in the future.

OU needs to kick the shite out of those cheating assholes
What makes Michigan so special that their HC isnt penalized even after they categorize him as a "repeat offender" and say its some of the worst rules violation they have ever seen? Its not just "big brand" bias - a decade ago they made OSU's title winning coach retire from the sport with tattoo gate
The biggest takeaway from this, is that post season bans are no longer a thing. Get caught cheating, your school pays a fine. With how some teams are spending (Texas, Texas Tech, Oregon), how many will shrug off the fine to get a competitive edge?

The problem with vacating is that there was nothing involving player eligibility via benefits. Michigan would've cleaned the NCAA's clock in courts.
Some pretty big brands (KU basketball and LSU/ND/Tennessee football) have still vacated wins recently.

Yet OM gets a two year postseason ban and lost 25 scholarships because Tunsil got $300 to pay an electricity bill

The point that is lost on you, is getting caught. Big difference.

quote:That is BS. LSU should sue the NCAA and get back its wins. Paying a family member cannot even compare to the systematic cheating that went on in Ann Arbor.
Meanwhile, some a-hole embezzled money to pay the father of an LSU player and we forfeit every win from a 3 year period.
NCAA is a fricking joke.

Sooners need to drag that arse all up & down their home field

Just because stealing is ok in the eyes of an Auburn fan, doesn’t make it right. You people are just ok being pieces of shite. Someone call Child Protective Services on this guy and save his kids before it’s too late.

Nah. There are dozens of programs who steal signs, and the two best at it are in the SEC. Everyone knows it which is why Michigan will keep their trophy. Shouldn’t have gotten caught though.
I am guessing one of them is Auburn.

Sign stealing, whether legal or illegal "is incredibly rampant in this business," a longtime Power 5 assistant said. Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles told ESPN in December that he estimates 75% of teams do it in some form.

Correct.
Our enemies at tOSU vacated wins and had a post season ban for the heinous crime of selling their gold pants after a victory over scUM. The NCAA really dropped the ball here, cheating is ok by them.

Someone with a brain down here, or else GoGators is a damn good Shithouse Lawyer!
Every player on Michigan's roster WAS eligible, a point no one talks about. The sensationalized media & these half-wit o$u b!tches conveniently forget other things, too...
- Stealing signs is legal
- Sending mom & grandma into the stands with an I-phone is legal
- Giving out game tickets is legal
- Writing manifestos is legal
- Being smarter than o$u coaches is legal
- Deleting text is legal
Furthermore, everything in the NCAA report is opinion, which will be brought out in the open when Michigan has our appeal. There were no "sources" listed in public, no rights of discovery or disclosure afforded to Michigan, and basically an entire report filled with aspersions, hearsay, and conjecture.
When Connor's lawyers questioned the NCAA about the "evidence" they had, they simply turned the tape recorder off and shut the entire meeting down...how convenient!
In the United States, you have a right to face your accusers, a point that just doesn't register with the Draconian NCAA...and also a point that many unjustly accused in the SEC Conference are well aware of!

They got off very lightly...I bet their huge popularity had a ton of play here...if it was a team that very few care about like Toledo or Tennessee it would be more strict.
