17 is pretty amazingly bad. I am 6 foot 200 and can throw it up 15. I am by no means a gym rat either. Just a normal person that lifts a little.

I'm a devout Christian.
You'd know it within seconds of meeting me.
I'm not ashamed of my faith, nor do I conceal it.
I say nothing of any particular lifestyles, other than, "do unto others;" "be grateful for what God has given you;" and "forgive."
A person's life is between him and his God. I've got my own issues.

It disgusts me that all Christians are being categorized, based on the actions of extremists.

Where in this thread have I posted anything that could be construed as bigotry?

However based on your post history I can conclude that you are a bit homophobic yourself....

True, but it seems (IMO) that your view is just the other end of the christian perspective. Not even using WBC as an example, there are everyday occurrences of dismissal of employment, barring from restaurants, chastisement, brutality and even death from the various corners of Christianity on the one extreme. While those are also balanced out by acceptance, understanding and celebrating the uniqueness of humanity as an actual whole by Christians around the world. While you shouldn't demonize the whole of Christianity for the actions of the bad, you can't canonize them either for the actions of the good.

Disenfranchisement, brutality, bigotry … those things suck.
And I wish they didn't exist.
But I can only be responsible for my actions and try to make a difference in my small corner of the world.

Not everyone hates/believes in judging others, that's all I'm saying.

I find it impressive how Clowney was able to do so little on the field when given so much ability. He sounds like he should have played at Texas.

I'm so tired of the Michael Sam story. Whether being a homosexual is genetic or a choice or ruled immoral by certain religions shouldn't matter. It's 2014, who cares what you do on your own time.

As long as you come in and produce and don't cause problems in the locker room, no one is going to give you shite, unless you are on the same team as Richie Incognito. It's all about what you can do for a team on the field. If you can do that, the rest will work itself out.

it's really not that difficult to understand why he could put up only 17 reps ... he was a bit distracted ...

Wasn't great by any means, but people seem to keep forgetting he's been projected as a mid to late round pick before and after he became national news. He wasn't expected to tear up the combine or be a high round pick.

true... but he could've really boosted himself with solid numbers.

Sam is probably going to be one of those guys who was good in college, but his skillset doesn't transition to the pros. He's stiff through the lower body (no homo), and doesn't have elite speed or athleticism to make up for it.

No arguments here. He's a bigger name than he should be just because of the media shite storm about him recently. Otherwise he would've been relatively unknown and lowly regarded during the draft process

the problem is the extremists are the loudest and most obnoxious.

most people are pretty middle of the road on most issues.

but the ones we hear about (mainly b/c they draw TV ratings) are the vocal few who make everyone else look bad. So sadly we get the shrill attention whores like the Michelle Bachmans and Alan Graysons of the world elevated to much higher platforms than they deserve.

Not sure why a Christian who condemns homosexuality as a sin is an extremist. It's not exactly some new interpretation of the Bible.

The problem I have is with those who only condemn homosexuality and ignore the other sexual sins that are rampant in our culture.

everything else being equal I'd say this is right; however, he has a killer work ethic and focus, so if there is upside to him, I think he'll find a way to keep improving

How often do the sins of others affect your standing with your god? That's the problem I have with the whole rigmarole. If it doesn't impact your own place in the here after, why does it matter what "sins" I commit?
