It has been for decades. The only difference is we are being a little more honest about it now.
bullshite. I'm not naive enough to think that nothing ever went on, such as players getting cars, or little handouts here and there, but generally the players asking for major money to sign ended up getting ratted out.
The old system was FAR from open-bidding, and what we're going to see happen now. If there's no difference then why was this law such a huge deal to so many players?

It's going to slowly ruin college football.

Tim Cook better get his act together.

500 dollars a month. Oh the humanity!

Now, let's leave all the doors and windows open much of the time while removing any screens, leave the food out on the counter, especially overnight, and don't perform any pest control on the house.
The question for all those geniuses out there is, What do you think is gonna happen next?

It is really crazy how much mileage this group is getting for only $500/month per player. They are certainly getting their money back on this.
I've been fascinated thinking about how the market will react after a year or so of this.
Right now $500/mo sounds like a steal in terms of ROI.
I would imagine that will continue to climb, and some of the astronomical numbers we're hearing will eventually fall, or be extremely rare, if it's deemed too risky.
Curious to see where we get to (up or down) once a value can actually be placed on some of this.

Is it frowned upon to take a Hooters or Twin Peaks endorsement?

OP's title is misleading and trash. Do you honestly think all 90 players are going to accept that offer? A whole lot of "what if" to be found in that story.

REC has this under control. $500.00 is a starting place. Think what Trent made and that’s where a 5* will likely be. Think the Dodge dealer isn’t rubbing his hands in glee?

Yes we've been winning all these titles totally legit in the Saban era. NOW amateurism is dead.

For sure
On the one hand it’s easy to see a scenario where the Miami’s and USC’s end up with a huge advantage, on the other hand I tend to think the SEC, where the interest is highest, will still be the place to be.
It’s all tbd, there’s no putting this genie back in the bottle though so either embrace it as a fan or stop watching now.

NIL is basically letting teams who weren’t very good at cheating, cheat.
There’s a reason the vast majority of anti-NIL posts on this board are from Alabama fans.

My dad gave me $500 total per month in college to pay for everything.
Yea they have tuition and room/board but that still isn’t shite.

If you were actually spending the money to sell a product, poor investment.
If you were a rich booster, money laundering just got a lot easier.
Lots of bag men about to be out of a job.

I don’t think Alabama is cheating any more than any of the other top programs

Bruh our coach is Ed Orgeron. Have you read Meat Market?
Who do you think Kirby and Jimbo learned how to “recruit” from?
Do you think Dabo gets players because he’s a man of god?
You don’t think Urban taught tOSU how to play SEC ball both on and off the field?
