Don’t blame me. I didn’t drag this up after decades; the story was released yesterday.

Take it up with your university’s official unofficial publication, Texas Monthly—they ran the memos.

They’ve excoriated us over the years.

It’s not fun when the media targets you, is it? At least y’all didn’t get a cover.

Sorry about your racist stadium and ballpark namesakes.

Show me where anyone disputed that.

Now show me the two largest sports venues on Texas A&M University’s campus that display the names of anyone involved.

It’s an awkward pickle for y’all, considering the hell you dished over Sul Ross.

Your misplaced whataboutism is hardly surprising.

Jefferson Davis was offered the presidency of the school(a&m) at its beginning but he turned it down.

It’s racist to hate because of color, but its racist to kill because of color, which is worse? One of aggys most celebrated pasts is it hero and statue which still stands of one its most coveted “leaders”, Sul Ross. southern wartime papers pridefully referred to Ross as “the gallant Texas negro killer,” there is too much info on aggys love affair with Ross available. But its so easy to find on the Web, even an aggy can find it. Keep digging aggy, your past is just as tainted as everyone else’s.

I am an old guy. Over the years, knowing players who played at both texas and aTm, knowing some of the "in guys" happens. I was personally never "in" or close to it. Just over time, was in positions to meet those who were. A person I know was playing golf with him, while he was doing it and taken aghast. What bothers me is my friend didn't have the balls to tell him he was wrong. Took the "friendship" as more important than being right.

Good grief. It’s guys on a golf course. In the company of your friends, you’re probably a saint.

A&M was the last SWC to have a black football player.

Why are you playing CNN games here?

Just because it's more recent than your last national championship doesn't mean it's really relevant today.

1959? You serious Clark?

It's called USA history and history is ALWAYS relevant.

Thanks for posting OP.

No, it's not. That's just ridiculous. You've taken a concept in which we should never forget our history and completely warped it.

How and what is it relevant to today?

UF is recognizing and honoring the first 2 Black football players on Saturday by having them on the field at kickoff.

The story of segregation and desegregation in sports (and overall) is part of our history. Unfortunately.

ETA: Oh, and he’s a racist.

It's called PR and it's for people like you.

Nobody is saying it isn't.

This isn't a historical article, it's a hit piece. Thus the reason an A&M fan posted it. He doesn't give a frick about the history and didn't post it for that reason.

None of those coaches are active now and haven't been for a long time. It's not relevant to college football today. If you want to talk about the history, the fine. But that's not what is going on here.
