What isn't funny?

Mel Kiper, wether you like him or not, is only around because of the NFL draft. You could even say he is ESPN's resident expert, that is how ESPN presents him. He voiced an opinion about what he sees as a trend in his "field of expertise". What he says is news. Perhaps you would prefer the word commentary. Nobody every said it was a real news situation, or breaking news.

You appear to be taking this a little too seriously. I made a perfectly reasonable comment which you are reading a whole lot in to. All I said was that there was something behind this thread, as in a talking point. I am only posting in such a drawn out way in an attempt to satisfy your request. Please consider the medium of discussion and just let this go.

Excellent DB skills. Back peddles like nobody's business. Should be drafted top 5.

The original comment wasn't even made to you. This thread was started with a news comment in the OP. Happy, no back peddling.

Mel Kiper said something, cancel the program I guess.

It was a good run.

I think the point he's making is that simply making an NFL roster puts you ahead of 99.9% of every single football player who's ever taken the field.

Jamarcus got paid, so mission accomplished.

Yep. What % of high school football players make it to big time college football? Then what % of college football players make it to the NFL?

Yep. Meanwhile, back at the oasis, the Arabs are eating their dates.

Breaking news, Lou tweets ND is best team in the nation. Howard disagrees but both are experts and the news is the news.

I wish it were better, but at the end of the day we recruit amazingly, win lots, and send these guys off with degrees and some with a shot at the NFL.

~1,088,158 High School Players in a given year.

1,696 NFL roster spots in a given year (53 * 32).

This means that roughly 0.0015% of high school football players will eventually make an NFL roster.

So my apologies, it's 99.85%

This is just the same old same old..Barner living in his mother's basement monitoring the Web 24-7 to find anything he can smearing Alabama. So he can somehow salvage his manhood, run to the board and count coup.

And then the usual pack of Corndogs Barners and similar Asshats join in. SOP.

Wow, there are so many posts in this thread that totally miss the point it's laughable.

Kiper was saying that a lot of Bama's defensive players seem to be getting drafted too high based on their performance in the NFL...he is observing a trend that may indicate that Bama's scheme is making some of these players look better than they really are...just like how teams talk about "scheme QBs"...

He did not say that every defensive player from Bama has sucked, he's just saying if they were a top 10 pick they have not produced at that level for example...pretty accurate if you ask me...

Serious question here, are you a chick? Ive never seen someone get so upset about a word used in a post that they whine about it for multiple posts like that. He said news, big fricking deal. Grow up and learn when to walk away.
