I'm happy he won, but you are 10th person to start this same exact thread in the last 2 days.

I’ll doubt anyone will argue how good Bowers is. It’s been mentioned several times here already.

This is the 15th time he’s won back-to-back Mackey awards this weekend.

I mean, he’s one of the best TEs in FBS history.

Should have won it as a freshman too.

2 Mackey awards but no hairline. Dude was balding in HS.

He deserves the award but he looked like a shell
of himself after the ankle. If he was healthy he’d play in the Orange Bowl no doubt. That’s the kind of player he is. Due to the injury and turnaround time to the combine he’s probably going to be talked into sitting out.

The fact that he won and missed games shows what a popularity contest the awards are. They have lost all meaning in the era of participation trophies.

Would disagree. He deserved it regardless of popularity. Most dominant college TE I ever remember.

That would be one of the two TEs who have won the Heisman.

Well deserved and the only other games I watched consistently this year besides Ole Miss was Georgia, just to see him play. Seems like a good kid too, tough to cheer against him when we played.

Really? I mean...Larry Kelley and Leon Hart were Tight Ends who won the Heisman Trophy...that's pretty big. Since this award only goes back 23 years...I don't know that I would equate it to the entire "history of college football".
