You think they weren't against Alabama? Alabama ran the ball almost as much as Auburn and McElwain never threw deep. Mostly because McElroy couldn't.

My comment was referencing the fact that the back seven playing against AU last year had to deal with containment of Cam. He scrambled a little bit, and voila, open receivers.

Julio Jones against AU: 10-199 AVG 19.9 LNG 68 yds.

Julio threw it to himself

He was wide open most of the first half and most of the yards came after the catch. The 68 yard long he didn't have a db within 15 yards of him.

I think pretty much everyone knows our secondary was not good. Especially in the first half.

So just to be clear, Auburn fans are claiming that McElroy is cocky and a douche because he said he has more experience in and knowledge of pro style offenses than a guy who has never in his life played in a pro style offense, correct?

That is a fair paraphrasing of this thread.

Just making sure, because from their responses you'd think he said something more along the lines of "I see myself not only as an athlete, but as an entertainer and icon. In one year I did more than most players will do in their entire careers." Now THAT would make someone a colossal douchecanoe, but I can't imagine anyone would say anything that absurd.

I have said it before but McElroy is the steal of this draft for someone. I can see him becoming another Tom Brady

I think so too. Some NFL teams may think so too according to that article.

quote:

McElroy also confirmed he got a 48 on the Wonderlic, and he said NFL teams are higher on him than most people realize.

“I think I will get drafted higher than a lot of people suggest,” McElroy said.

I didn't read the article but IMHO, I don't see him being a Tom Brady. Let's be honest, there really aren't many Tom Brady's.

I see him going in the 3rd-4th round area. Not hating on him at all.....just saying I don't see him being a 1st or 2nd rounder.

Perhaps in retrospect, Cammy took a page from the Lindsey Lohan/ Paris Hilton book of entertaining icons and displayed his camel-toe as a calculated measure of attention getting strategy.

That man is smart as hell.

Nobody saw Tom Brady being "Tom Brady" either...he was drafted in the sixth round.
