To be fair, this is exactly what Mullen did when he came to state.

And i don't believe Tennessee will fire Dooley this year, unless the wheels just come off the bus.

They should win 8 games which will save his job.

Has not happened in the SEC since Tuberville(never under Slive's watch). Won't happen now.

State will never have a coach leave over money, and our AD has specifically and emphatically stated that.

We have a trust that was created in the will of the late Leo Seal specifically for the purpose of "keeping a coach worth a damn." The same Leo Seal whose twin sons gave a lump sum of $12 million last year for the football complex and whose name is on the building.

that's fine but our next coach isn't coming into a situation like Mullen at State or Petrino at Arkansas. He's coming in after Petrino built up the program to national prominence and the next coach won't be given a rebuilding grace period like those two. Besides, circumstances are different because many Hog fans didn't want Long to fire Petrino and when he did he put his arse on the line. His next hire has to be a home run or he'll be gone too.

From evidence of last night, it doesn't seem like Petrino built much up as far as the strength of the program is concerned. He won with a great offensive system it seems, and a few important pieces. It's not like the cupboard is full over there.

He's got to learn how to interview first. He was approached last year by several teams and offended several, offended is a strong word but turned them off to him at least.
