Good plan
Mac Jones was also .500 in SEC play in his first season as a starter.

Young (freshmen year):
- 156 yards
- 1 TD
- 0 Top 10 wins
- 5’6” 167lbs
Max (freshmen year):
- 1,118 yards
- 10 TDs
- 6’5” 230lbs
- 1 Top 10 Win
(That win was on the road vs the team that was an onside kick away from beating A1abana on a neutral field lmaooo)

Completion %
Max - 58%
Kellen Mond - 63.3%
One was a four year starter and one was a true freshman.
A better comparison would be Max vs Kellen's true freshman year when Mond completed 51% of his passes.
Or even Haynes King who in 2020 completed 50% of his passes.

Young was fricking terrible last year. And allegedly he came in at 5’6” 167lbs
Max was amazing last year and isn’t a little twerp with a weak noodle arm.
I thought the same about another lauded freshman QB at A&M a few years ago. He was inserted midway against Bama, ended up scrambling for his life and throwing picks...
Then he transferred, penalty free to Oki. Kyler Murray stole the Heisman his senior year.

Brennan and Johnson were both around 60% passers last year. Neither are exceptional.
Yes, Bryce Young was also around 60% but was a true freshman playing with other 2nd and 3rd string players including linemen, receivers, and blocking backs.

You didn’t pay attention to LSU much, not surprised

It's always interesting that you leave out that he was also facing second and third string defensive players on the opposing defense.
It's also interesting that you always leave out that most of those 2nd and 3rd string players will be your starters in 2021.

But, I don’t think max played in the 1 st quarter
Finley got the first 3 possessions of the game. Max took over, but couldn't move the ball over the next two possessions. Then Finley was reinserted. Played several possessions until the pick 6. Max was put back in and wasn't able to do anything until there was 5 min left in the game. He drove methodically down the field for a TD with around 30 seconds left. At that point, it seems yall were playing not to get shut out, not to actually try and come back based on the playcalling.

no. Most of those opposing teams still were playing 1st team defense to
#1- get them more experience playing as a team to ge better
#2- avoid a more embarrassing loss
To post so much on a football board you are pretty dumb about the game.

I'm sure you think that sounds good and all, but I actually did the research (unlike you obviously).

I'm not the one baffled by the fact that a losing team would play young defensive players in garbage time.
Well actually, they do it on offense too. No point in risking injuries to starters in a blowout loss.
Whether you choose to believe the truth or not is solely up to you, I just found it interesting that you keep regurgitating the same excuses in an attempt to frame your young quarterback in a better light.

List is terrible considering how little of Emory Jones has been seen. Also, Matt Corral should be number one over JT Daniels

He’s comparing LSU’s true freshmen QB to a 3rd round QB - I’ll take that
That means user texag7 see’s 1st round potential for Max by the time he is a JR/SR. I agree.
