Alabama has 2 P5 OOC games every year starting in 2025 (and none of them are Ga Tech). Hardly what I call scared. Just make the schedules the same, I dont know why this is difficult

I personally favor 9 SEC games, but the final decision should be made with two criteria IMO. (1) What gets us the most $$$ we can get. (2) What is best for the least competitive football programs in the conference.

Exactly. It is in the best interest of the conference that the Big Six (plus OU/TX) either all have three Big Six per opponents or they all have two. Giving Alabama three big six perm opponents while freaking Tenn is getting Kentucky and Vandy and LSU is getting Arkansas and TAMU is not good for the league.

Wrong!
Alabama is scheduled to play Georgia Tech in 2030 & 2031.

Again, it’s easy to be the guy for playing nine games when every other school is against it. Never truly believed Nicky really wanted nine games. This just reinforces what I thought. .

The SEC will go to a 9 game schedule when the TV contract offer justifies it.

Until then it would be beyond dumb to take away the conferences potential leverage in a negotiation with ESPN by doing it without the contract being updated to take into account the value of the new teams and the fair market value for the content being provided given the Big10/Fox/CBS deal.

As a Bama fan, I’m not here to defend Saban on this. He absolutely had the sway to make this vote go one way or the other. Even worse is that he has been the most outspoken voice in the nation on providing the fans and players with more high quality games, and yet he folded the minute he found out Alabama was going to get the toughest 3 team draw in a 9 game schedule. He’s right that no one else got 3 Big 6 teams, but he’s wrong to tank the 9 game schedule because of it. We are Bama and should be able to handle that.

Yeah. All of this seems overblown. But I would think most Alabama fans would be okay playing LSU, Tenn and AU every year. It has worked pretty well for them.

He didn't do that. He talked to someone in the room who knew what Sankey said and described his frustration. That's not speculating.

You are correct. That is not speculation. Neither is it fact. It is unsubstantiated hearsay.

My brother in law Cletus talked to a guy at work who knows somebody that works in the NCAA enforcement division. That guy said that Georgia was about to get hammered by the NCAA and have their football program shut down. His source is rock solid, just like all anonymous sources always are.

Now we know the schools that will vote for whatever Saban asks for, except for the brave 5 who voted for 9 games.

Last year was the biggest reason for the change of vote for Nick Saban. Both Tennessee and LSU beat Alabama. That is very unusual and that is why the turning point of those two teams that Nick was supposed to get Alabama to beat those two teams. This year will tell which direction Alabama and Nick will be heading for 2024 when Texas and Oklahoma are in the SEC.

Saban is a scared little bitch. He won't win another championship, SEC or orhwrwise
———————-
Saban has owned Georgia and Kirby…fact! It’s a good thing you don’t negotiate the tv contracts….incompetent Sankey didn’t leave a clause in contract to renogotiate contract if more schools added to sec. Saban wanted sec schools to be compensated for 9th game. Saban has generated more money for the sec schools. Big 10 has Better tv contact….Indiana and Purdue get more money than bama and little brother Uga….let that sink in for a moment.

How much would you consider adding the 9th game is worth money wise?
Plus there's been no concrete thought to what the league will do once Texas and OU enter. Just speculation. Should we put all of our cards on the table before we know what their worth?
ESPN ain't adding to what they are paying now if we just go ahead and add an extra game. They will get premium content for chicken feed.
——-/————
Agree. Incompetent fan bases don’t understand this. The vandy’s, Mizz…etc just want a check.

Personally, I like the change in scheduling from Bama and LSU going forward (UGA has several years with 3 P5 OOC going forward, by the way).

Those OOC matchups are so much more exciting to me than Bama vs Vandy/Kentucky/Mizzou/Scar/MissSt/Arkansas etc..
I know some of them are rivalries for you. But the rest of the conference yawns at most of those in conference matchups.

I love the direction to better OOC.

It doesn't change the fact that Nick Saban is a coward. I mean you do understand that right? I mean a drop your gun, pull down your pants and bend over to the enemy kinda coward.
