Mateer is the kind of guy you pull for. Competitive, tough, positive, a real leader. Fun to watch play.
He gives us a chance in every game, but more than that, the defense gives us a chance.

I don’t know why OU fans are rooting for failure so bad on Arnold

This is where you are wrong. No one is rooting against him. They are all just pointing out his weaknesses. Its mostly mental he has some great skills hidden away in his head but under pressure he can’t process fast enough and folds more often than not. Thats the hurdle he has to get over. Posters are just pointing that out. Its not personal he did nothing wrong to fans attitude wise he just folded under pressure in game against good teams.

Why do yall care so much if he turns out to be good?

I think most of us want the best for him (just not when he plays us). My take on him was until last year, he's never played on a bad team in his life so he didn't know how to deal with adversity and he didn't handle it very well. He literally fumbled away Tennessee (along with Hawkins) and especially the Mizzou game. We had that game won and all he had to do was not frick up. I saw promise in him and hated to see him leave but I also didn't want him to be our starter if he stayed. He's def in a better situation now but hasn't had to face adversity yet either but we'll see this year for sure if he's really improved or not.

You want to step in to back your boy to take the self-ban bet after he disappeared when he realized he got called out for running his mouth with stupidity? If Michigan is so bad at defense and Baylor on the road is a much bigger win, then AU can’t lose against OU. Step up or sit down little brother

Never came close to saying that. You're not good at internet.

It was also pretty apparent after the first half arbuckle shuttered the offense and didn’t even use tempo. They really didn’t give up much of the playbook after the first 3 series.

I'm thinking Michigan and OU are probably top 10 teams right now

How in gods name could you watch Michigan and think they are a top 10 team? They are gonna have a lot of growing pains with Underwood but they have an easy schedule.

I expect Nebraska to blast them at night in Lincoln in two weeks

Sooners look much improved. He's the type of QB teams will need to put a spy on. He showed great instincts and balance running the ball.

A lot of overreacting going on with tRant as always at the start of the season.

Michigan isn't good. Let's calm down.

To start with, I said probably a top 10 team. That leaves open the door that they may not be.

Let's watch how the season plays out. I bet I turn out righter than you turn out wronger.

That’s twice you’ve used the word “close.”

They have a ton of talent, but the OU defense is just THAT good. They will win 9 games this year.

You didn’t have that game won. It was 23-23 with 42 seconds left and you had the ball on your own 35.

My bad. He still fumbled it away by being careless and you guys returned it for a TD at the end of the game

Ok, the question remains what have you seen that makes you believe UM is probably a top 10 team?

Nuss refuses to run the ball. It's Mateer and it isn't close.

Maybe in your perspective, but the money markets still have Nuss at the top, which means the bookmakers think he is gonna have a great season.
