If Saban was cut out for an NFL HC position, he'd still be there.

But he's not. As seen by his lack of success.

Or keep arguing that it's Ricky Williams' fault. Whatever.

He's obviously a horrible judge of talent, since there were NO other extenuating circumstances in the Brees/Culpepper decision. AmIright?

I'd rather not let this divulge into a 5 page argument with rantards.

21-zip still burn that bad? Let it go man. Saban is a good coach and miles is a good coach. Miles got his team past the fifty once. That was good, right?

It's also way harder to cheat in the nfl.

That's some good bait right there.

The control he has in college, you will never get that in the NFL. You have to be more relaxed about it

Which is exactly why he's suited for the college game. And why he'll be at Alabama until he retires.

It wasn't about judging talent. It was about making a huge decision on the future of his football team that was indeed affected by, as you say, extenuating circumstances relating to Drew's injury.

Nevertheless, his decision to go with Culpepper, obviously, couldn't have been more wrong.

Not that big a deal. I don't see why yall are so uptight about defending his NFL decisions even now. Coaching in the NFL is MUCH harder than it is in college and Saban certainly won't be the last to prove he couldn't hack it.

Exactly why Saban is better suited for college and why he has had success there. He is trying to shape young men into men and better players. In the NFL they are already men and very talented players.

I remember Nick Saban taking that 6-10 Cleo Lemon led Dolphins team and bitch slapping the Patriots 21-0... But, as has already been said, Saban is a college coach. He has ownership of the football program, recruits relentlessly, develops players, dominates his opponent, wins championships..

You're the only one arguing, everybody else is saying pretty much the same thing: "That's why he's better suited for coaching college."

If he was still your coach you'd be defending him too.

I have begun to appreciate the passive-agressive approach to the 21-0 butt pain. Here is another example of the post 9-1-12 pain manifesting itself in the LSU fan base.

quote:

This fanbase needs to learn its place in the college football world and deal with it properly. With ESPN running the show now, the odds of this happening again are very high. Some teams play by a different set of standards: Bama is one of them. LSU has to prove it can beat Bama twice in a year now. As a fan, you better learn to deal with this or you will be a miserable person.

The pain is so palpable that I can almost empathize with the patheticness of it.

Yeah, Saban really can't go ballistic on guys making more than him like he can in the college game. Hard to really chew a guy out as bad as Saban does at times when he's more valuable to the team than you. It just doesn't work like that in the league.

That being said, college is where he belongs. I can't stand the guy and absolutely hate his football team, but it is a machine and he's one of the most successful coaches of all-time.

It doesnt burn as bad as losing to 1 team in your same division 3/4 times will. Also the rest of the nation views that 1 time as played under illegitimate circumstances. Its ok though maybe yall can piggy back off our teams success again and hire Miles because Lord knows yall cant do it on yalls own.

Losing a regular season game to LSU will never equal what happened to LSU in the dome.

The 1 win is so much more satisfying though. You know, the one they call Saban's masterpiece.

But if it helps, I feel really terrible about those other 3 games right now.
