yeah...I'm bored today

Ross...You know I like Malzahn...I just think it would be a mistake to turn down a HC job with his ability...Just like with every GREAT HC...You have to prove yourself at the lower level first

The only HC in the SEC that didn't prove himself at a lower level before getting an SEC job was the one and only Houston Nutt

How can you forget him absolutely dominating the competition that one year at Boise State?

Mark Richt was FSU OC before taking over at UGA.

Orgeron proved to several schools he was nuts but Ole Miss hired him anyway.

FSU was a powerhouse at one time...AU is not currently at that status

Should I change the name of this thread to Auburn fans vs Arkansas fans?

You said...

I pointed out that you were wrong... Richt didn't "prove himself" as a HC at a lower level. Dan Mullen would be another example. In fact, it's not umcommon for a coordinator to land a BCS job... there are three examples in the this conference.

IMO, Malzahn can stick around AU for a couple more years and get a much better job than Memphis...

I feel ya...I was just wanting to get a shot on Hooty...It's been a while

However...Mullen was OC for 2 time National Champion...so he kindof proved himself

Do you agree with that statement.... "Malzahn can stick around Auburn for a couple more years and get a better job than Memphis"?

Probably...But I also agree that he would compete in C-USA and get a much better job than what he takes after leaving AU as OC

That statement is so full of fail.

Richt - OC at FSU before moving to UGA
Kiffin - at USC and then into the NFL before going to Rocky Top
Mullen - OC at Florida before going to Miss State
Petrino - OC at Auburn before going to Louisville (not really a small program per se) to HC in the NFL to Arky
Tubbs was DC at aTm and Miami before going to Ole Miss.

You don't have to work your way up through the ranks by being head man at a little program before making the jump to a top level conference.

If his offense does really, really well. Or he could miss his window of opportunity like the Rutgers' guy did (Schianno??).

To that I'll ask.... Do you think it will be easier to have decent success at Memphis or maintain a good offense at Auburn? Honestly, both will be difficult, but I think it'll be easier to maintain success at Auburn...

You're point is valid, however.

Because of his strong ties to Auburn.
