quote:I was being honest. You are one of the few that will admit that Auburn actually beat Alabama for a specified recruit, along with some other good Alabama posters.
At least be honest when you say this. I'll readily admit that Auburn beat out Alabama for Kerryon Johnson and Jalen Harris, Byron Cowart as well if you want to include out of state recruits.
quote:I actually agree with you here. I think it was painfully obvious that he wanted and Alabama offer (after his commitment to Auburn, he unofficially visited Alabama on September 6th, September 20th, October 18th, November 15th and November 29th). He made his way to Tuscaloosa far more than Auburn.
I just don't think that Alabama really wanted Darrell Williams, but when Alabama fans say this a lot of Auburn fans spew BS.

And so was Derrick Henry. So big fricking deal. Henry, statistically, was the greatest high school running back of all time, breaking Barry Sanders' records
Not with yards per carry. HENRY had more carries his senior year than most rbs have in a hs career.

Regardless, what Derrick Henry did in high-school was unreal.
47 games, 1,387 carries, 11,983 yards, 8.6 YPC, 153 touchdowns.
I find what Corey Robinson (former Troy quarterback) did in high-school pretty amazing as well. These following stats will be from his senior year ONLY.
15 games, 383/520, 73.7%, 5,872 yards, 15.3 YPP, 391.5 YPG, 91 TD, 4 INT

Good for Gus. He said what he should as the HC of Auburn.

He's from Hoover, that doesn't really mean much. Tuscaloosa is 45 minutes from Hoover and Auburn is 2 hours. Half of Hoover HS goes to Bama, so he has friends there. I went to Hoover and was in Tuscaloosa more than Auburn in HS. Auburn is a weekends trip for Hoover kids while Tuscaoolsa is a night trip. Much easier for HS kids from Hoover to pull off

It wasn't Barry Sanders all-time rushing record that Henry broke.
It was a guy named Ken Hall of Sugarland, Texas way back in the 50's.

i think auburn will do okay in the 2016 class. marlon Davidson and john Broussard's crystal balls are overwhelmingly in favor of auburn. those are 2 of the top 4 players in state as things stand now

Someone sticks a microphone in his face and asks about in state recruiting, I'm fricking stunned he didn't say "well we tried but may have gotten edged out by Alabama"
Exactly. Stupid thread is stupid

I don't understand all the negative over a coach claiming success? Coaches say things to promote what they do all the time.

It's hard to win your state when you share it with Alabama. Les Miles is doing well at LSU since it's the only tFlagship. I think 17/25 were from Louisiana. I wouldnt consider 8/27 winning the state.
Yeah, very strange for someone to brag about 8/27!
