All I care about more opportunities to play other SEC teams. It's crazy how few times UGA and LSU have squared off. I would've rather they be our permanent "rivals" from the east, but the Florida series has been fun, so I can't complain too much about it.

Auburn to the East isn't happening, if they want to move to a group closer to campus, they're better off petitioning for pods then.

I like playing USCe. Their fans understand what it's like to have to deal with orange douchers in state.

My beef with it is that it is as far away as you can get in the SEC.

Just no way we are ever going to be able to have a real rivalry. Interactions between our fans are going to be few and far between.

You will see very few of our fans attending the game in College Station. Probably more A&M fans can decide to go to a game in Columbia because they can afford to do it (just more money flowing through Texas than SC), but not many will do that.

Be real. We have absolutely no history between our schools. Are your fans even interested in our game really, besides the fact it is an SEC game?

Just an idle musing thing, Notre Dame seems like the only school that can get a rivalry going cross country for some reason.

I think I remember reading on the LSU board that it would be more than a decade before LSU would play at Tenn again, after this season.

That just seems wrong.

Why the hell won't the AD's/Presidents vote for a 9 game schedule? A 9 game SEC schedule is logical but Alabama has been the only program to vote for it.

I've never heard why the ADs don't like it. I assume it's financial but idk.

I'm sure that's it. It would result in 1 less home game every other year (0.5/year).

Bingo. And for schools that have a permanent out-of-conf rival, like UGA vs GT, UF vs FSU, USC vs Clemson, it hurts even more because we are already at a 0.5/year loss with those home/aways every year.

The best idea I've come up with is instead of each division being a round robin, you drop one of those opponents each year to add a 3rd cross-div opponent.

LSU not having a natural rival since Tulane left the SEC 50 years ago doesn't give its fan base the right to dictate who does and doesn't get a permanent rival.

There is no really good solution until the NCAA changes its rules. SEC cant do shite.

I think it is financial in the sense of lost reputation of the league. The fear of everyone beating up on each other and tarnishing the overall record scares the AD/Presidents away from a 9 game schedule.
