Gus has proven very capable of beating Saban.. funny to see Bama fans lie to themselves by cheering for Gus to be at Auburn. Simpletons..

Gus has beat Saban twice and lost 3 - I cheer for him to stay.

Saban's first 4 years at Bama he was 2 and 2 versus Miles - I cheered for him to stay too.

You probably wouldn't understand this, but while the idea seems nice (at first), you don't want to win every game, every time.

It's exciting to lose one every few years, it keeps you on edge.

Gus, like Les, is just good enough to stay in mediocrity land, but rise up and make it competitive every few years.

In less than 4 years when Gus is gone, you'll understand - he really is just an average coach. Auburn gets good players by reputation not by Gus.

Some widely published word is that we gave him a deadline to shite or get off the pot. How is that being held hostage?

'insider' word is that Gus was never going to get through the board of trustees anyway. In that case, y'all just got screwed big time by Gus and Sexton, thinking he was leaving for Arkansas if Auburn didn't pony up.

Now... WHO got held hostage?

This sounds eerily similar to when arkie believed Gus didn't turn them down in 2012 and ya'll chose Bert. Then people wondered why Bert seemed to get so personal with Gus so quickly. Bert knew arkie wanted Gus 1st.

Huh?

Gus wanted the Arkansas job in 2012 and even waited to sign with Auburn until AFTER Bert had signed. Plus, many believe that Long was fired because he wouldn't hire Gus in 2012 and had no plans to do it in 2017. Our GOBN wanted Gus and they're responsible for the coup to fire Long.
