Parrish is by far the highest rated CB recruit that we have signed in the past 5 classes (hoping to change that with the 2018 class).

He is what I call a "High School stud".
Even in college, he could come forward on a play and lay a big hit. He is a solid tackler from the CB position. If you just look at hitches, curls, and wr screens, he might look like a 3rd team all conference player.

But he doesn't have the hips to turn and run. He never developed the hips to turn and run.
And OC/QBs know that he doesn't have the hips to turn and run.
So the good teams never throw WR screens and hitches. They always go behind him. And often win the play by doing so.

but I thought he was almost as bad as Hurts except for the last 2 drives of the game.

kid totally changed the game and your 'great' Defense had no answer for him. It is why we won the game.

Reasons Georgia lost in order of most significant

1. Refs
2. Conservative play calling

By no answer for him, do you mean Bama only scored 3 times in the second half. They had 9 drives in the second half. 1/3 success rate isn't exactly shredding a defense.

Give it up, dude. We both made the National Championship game, and Auburn didn't.

I too wondered wtf he was doing. In the post game interview with Tua, Saban, and Payne, Tua said that it was a miscommunication and he thought it was a pass play whereas everyone thought it to be a run play. Freshman mistake.

Exactly this. Freshmen makes mistakes. he shook it off and didn't let it bother him. He showed poise.
Kudos. He changed the entire complexion of the game.

guy i know that is in training to be a pro scout actually thinks Parrish is going to get drafted.

my jaw dropped a little.

i've made no secret of my dislike for Parrish, he was getting torched when Hurts was in the game too, they just couldn't connect, but I guess that was the best we had, c'est la vie.

It was the sack he escaped on third down of his second series that turned the game around. It would have been his second straight 3 and out, but he escaped, scrambled for the first, then put the ball in the end zone to cap that drive. If he takes that sack, ball game is over. He would have had no momentum or confidence at that point.

That was maddening. All year we tackled very well, but we couldn't tackle Tua on that play. He looked poised and seasoned on that play. Kept his cool.

I would have been wetting my pants and screaming like a little girl in that situation.

No troll.

Why did they not go to Sony more in the 4th? At the top of the 4th quarter he ran 3 straight plays for 10, 5 and 13 yards.

That was the 14 min mark. Then the rest of the game they used him on 1 run.

They did find themselves needing to pass but they went to Chubb 5 times for 9 yards and Hartman (i dont like that guy you need to kick him off) I think got 1 run for 9 yards.

Why Chubb? At the start of the 4th im thinking he had 13 carries for 16 yards?

Why not Sony?

Because of our offensive coordinator. He makes questionable calls sometimes..

We scored 4 times. 2 touchdowns, 2 field goals.

And you might be the only person alive on this Earth that wasn't impressed by that true freshman's performance on the biggest possible stage.

Their success rate went up significantly in the second half. If we are going to brag about what Fromm did in the ND game on the road in a hostile environment, I think we can give Tua props for coming into the national Championship game at the half and winning the game.

I'm not sure why people think they have to tear a kid down just because he isn't on their team. It's silly.

He shredded your Defense. Just like OU did. Just like Auburn did and even Missouri. We don't put Tua in that game and you would have your first NC in a Generation.

You blew it. It will be another 25 - 35 years before you are in that type of situation again. 1980 was forever ago.

What problem could you have with Mecole Hardman? I can't think of anything slightly controversial that he's done all year.

Not sure. And it's a good, legitimate question. Sony was shoing that with a small crack he could squeeze through and mae something out of nothing. I felt Chubb might bust on at any time, but Michel definitely was running the ball better in that game.

Hardman? he's only a sophomore who played defense last year. He was a 5* and will be a great receiver for us.
He is not a runnigback. Why do you dislike him? I am curious.

No. It's never on one player and it's lazy to make it seem that way. On the final play he should have re-routed the WR and didn't, but the Safety had no business in cover 2 staying toward middle of field. That play alone was on 2 players.

As for him getting owned throughout the game, why didn't the UGA staff make a change? Tony Brown got burned on the long TD and Bama's staff pulled him - a SR - and put in Carter for the remainder of the game and OT. UGA could've made a change if he was killing them. Hard to blame it all on a kid like that.

Tua clearly was the difference in that game. He stays on the bench Georgia wins. It is that simple. To act like there was not a difference in the Offense between Hurts and Tua is downright delusional.
