You want to change your gender? Well, Ok. It isn't going to solve any of your problems and its going to add a ton of new ones along with wiping out your life's savings but you do you.
When it comes to sports, however, unless its competitive shooting, men and women shouldn't compete against one another. It doesn't matter if a man identifies as a woman or as Gamora the Rocket Turtle. He's going to have an unfair advantage over the women he competes against.

Does the NCAA have a testosterone/hormone level set for determining who can compete?
It is painfully obvious that the current standards of hormone requirements do not offset the inherent differences in regards to physical capability. The NCAA will need to review these and adapt if they wish to allow transpeople to participate (or otherwise create a separate grouping specifically for them).
I really don't want to get into a debate regarding the right or wrong of being trans - that goes on the poliboard. That said, it is clear that if the goal is for competitive athletic endeavors, the policies need to adapt.
