3 losses?
No, they would probably go 2-6 in conference like OU. The 3-loss teams lost to teams like IU so they aren't championship caliber.
Again, no championship caliber teams got left out so it doesn't matter.

This is a strange nihilistic argument that flies in the face of all objective logic and convention so I’ll just leave it as we disagree.
It’s like saying Missou-Kansas didn’t determine the NC today so the game doesn’t matter. It matters.

I as well. Unfortunately, it’s very rare on this site that this happens. That is by design.

There’s no way in hell any conference will ever get six teams in with a 12 team playoff. Thats just stupid.
The way the seeding was done this year isn’t good but your premise is even worse.

help Bama rules now that Saban is retired.
I've see some dumb shite but DAMN...
HE'S GETTING THE TOP CLASS ERRY YEAR!!!
New NCAA recruiting rules.
HE'S WHINING ABOUT TEAMS PLAYING TOO FAST!

Are we sure this is what we want football to become?
2011, rematch with LSU
Push for a four team playoff takes root
WHY DO THEY GET IN THE PLAYOFFS WITHOUT WINNING THEIR CONFERENCE?
2011 and 2017 are tied as my favorite.

y were. But they are damn sure better than poor little ole Clemson.
Clemson didn't lose to a team as bad as Vandy or Oklahoma tho.

I think it was more influential how 2 of those losses happened. We were simply uncompetitive and you know every committee member was tuned in along with the rest of the country.
They can't watch all the games. But I do agree. It was how Alabama got beat by those two teams in particular. Like I said...had one loss been to Georgia and Alabama had beaten wither Oklahoma or Vanderbilt it is a different story. And....once you are in the playoffs, anything can happen.
quote:Absolutely. Hey. Another year or two when DeBoer has his team and they are all bought in and Alabama will probably be back.
It also hurt that all 3 losses were on the road. 1-3 record away from the comforts of home didn’t exactly give the committee confidence that Alabama wouldn’t lay a huge egg @Penn St in a December game. A big reason the committee often seemed to give Bama the edge is they knew with near certainty Bama wouldn’t embarrass them for putting them in.

3 losses.
3 losses.
3 losses.
3 losses.
You only play 12 games and 4 are trash teams.
Bama was one game above .500 against teams with a pulse.
If Tennessee got left out with 2 losses, I would melt and rightfully so.
The rest of the 3 loss Nancy’s? Give me a break.

That's because you're an idiot.

Don’t come in here and pretend like Bama represents the rest of us and them getting screwed somehow hurts LSU.

So basically, let's make the regular season unwatchable.
8 SEC games per year isn’t “unwatchable”

Next time it will be LSU being replaced by Indiana.
Luckily, this is an issue LDU will never have to face as they'll never sniff the playoffs.

Or Duke replacing Georgia.
No two loss team that requires referee assistance to overcome less formidable foes, such as Georgia Tech, possesses the necessary caliber to compete in the playoffs. They're truly lucky Oklahoma did what they can't.

You mean like Clemson? Who also lost to two teams Bama beat? And beat a grand total of one top 25 team in the regular season?

And a significantly stronger SOS than any non-SEC playoff team.
quote:
Bama was one game above .500 against teams with a pulse.
Also more wins over top 25 teams than SMU, Clemson, Indiana, Penn State and Notre Dame combined.
Not to mention beat Wisconsin by a larger margin than both #3 Penn State and #1 Oregon combined (plus sacrificed a TD for the mercy knee).
And there's the pesky fact that "automatic qualifier" Arizona State beat the worst team in the SEC by a touchdown...

If Tennessee got left out with 2 losses, I would melt and rightfully so.
If Bama got in with zero losses, you'd still melt because you're a hormonal count with little dick syndrome.

Which all three would all be undefeated with Indiana and SMU's schedules and conversely, SMU and Indiana would barely be bowl eligible with our schedules.

I told everyone a good 3 loss team could get into playoffs and was laughed at. This year there wasnt a good 3 loss team imo every one had bad flaws.
I will say if you match up who Bama beat and how many wins over ranked teams it looks impressive. Problem is SMU doesnt have any bad losses really.SMU would not be a playoff team in the sec and thats what they need to be asking there selves when selecting teams!
