I believe DeBoer is a good coach, FWIW. But the problem was always going to be that no matter who Alabama hired in 2023, they were going to be following the greatest dynasty of all time. The expectations are high anyway for any coach in the SEC, but the bar is impossible in Tuscaloosa. The reality is that DeBoer is simply not going to put up the body of work that Saban did, and he probably won’t come anywhere close. But he’ll be alright, he’ll land at another west coast school that appreciates him.

Our OL had been slipping under Saban for a few years now. Bryce saved it a good bit, Milroe likely got the job because of what he could with his legs.

Saban almost lost to a Harsin lead 6-5 Auburn team in 2021, needing 4 OT after a 10-point 4th quarter comeback to get there. Almost lost again in 2023, needing 4th and 31.

We went from having high-quality OC to BoB and Rees.

DeBoer is doing just fine so far. We were more of a rebuild than people realize.

The biggest problem is that Bryant-Denny West is old, poorly designed, and falling apart. The maintenance costs are getting ridiculous. No one wants Alabama to sell Tiger Stadium. But that is a lot of money to spend for just one guaranteed win every other year.

Does LSU have any excuse for losing at all, to anyone? $50+ million player payroll. $25+ million coaching staff payroll (not including previous staff buyouts). Cignetti made playoffs first year and won it all in year 2, for a lot less money.

Am I missing something

Probably

20/28 = 71.4% rounded down to 71

55/74 = 74.3% rounded down to 74

Deboer took over a dynasty

Kiffin took over a program on skid row

What's not mathing?

Give us a little bit of a break. After three weeks of every other fan base bleeding all over the board about LSU, you can give us one.
