Kentucky and Tennessee will be seeded higher according to all the experts, that’s why I’m bitter. Not at our conference or teams, just that we seem to be projected so low with good resume imo. I was hoping for a 4/5 seed, but last week Lunardi had us as a projected 8 seed after losing to Miss State, and now 7 after beating Bama. Improvement I guess.

Congrats on splitting with us and your 2nd place SEC trophy.

We hardly deserve to make the tourney. I have no problem admitting that.

But ya'll bitching and moaning about your seeding when you have 4 terrible non conference losses is laughable.

The biggest issue I have with the committee and Lunardi is that they put way too much emphasis on non conference games played in November and early December.

Most college teams have freshman and transfers as key components of their teams. It takes a while for these teams to gel.

If you are in a top flight conference, like the SEC, your conference record should be far more important than losing to a few non con teams in November.

He’s just trolling. We talked about how some people do want teams punished for loses in November/December, such as himself. I think we’ve lost 2 games since mid January?

If you ask him without me or google’s help how much if the A&M team is new this year, he wouldn’t know. You hit the nail on the head, most our players our new outside Wade and Radford. Buzz’s teams seem to gel/play their best ball going into March. I rather be hot now than in December.

Conference schedules aren’t equal, that’s why going by conference record alone isn’t happening

I do not pretend to be an expert on seeding teams for a tournament, but it seems to me that you would want to seed them based upon how they are playing at the time of the tournament, not based upon how they were playing four months earlier.

No one is saying conference only. We are saying loses in the first 2 months should not be weighed like loses in January/February. Why do you feel the other way?

I want to hear his logic on why schools should be punished for losing early in the year, if it’s not a troll or just bc it’s A&M. The hogs can enlighten tRant.

It’s not complicated. Schedule a harder non-con. losing those games don’t hurt that bad but winning helps immensely. It burned Buzz last year which is why it’s surprising he didn’t try to beef up this year’s non-con but doesn’t matter I guess

So get rewarded for losing to Houston in November instead of Colorado. That’s dumb. If you are schedulin “Q1 loses” as your strategy, good for you lol that’s not honorable.

First I think Lunardi has Texas A&M seeded way too low. Based on Q1 wins etc... I'd guess around a 5 seed is where they'll end up and where many brackets currently have them.

However, there is a lot of history regarding your point about weighing the latter part of the season more heavily. The committee used to do it: "Last 10 Games" was actually an important criteria and one that was much discussed.

However, there were constant arguments against this for punishing teams that scheduled harder OOC matchups by diminishing their great Nov/Dec wins.

The criteria was dropped in hopes that it would encourage more the big OOC games fans want to see and make teams pay the price for staging a "pre-season" of all shite teams to mesh new players, especially if they lost to any of them.

Just like with football, the idea was that all games on the schedule should count as equally as possible.

Again, I think A&M should be at least a 5 seed based on their resume but there are some good arguments against considering the OOC games as less important.

Duke could have our exact same schedule and results and the committee would talk about how they really fought through an early learning period and came on strong to end the year deserving a 2 seed.

Probably, but Duke would also be safely in with Vandy's 11-7 SEC conference record including 8-2 in their last 10 games or if they were 14-6 in the ACC like Clemson. Those two teams aren't Duke and are on the outside looking in because they have some bad Q4/Q3 losses.

You didn't play a single ranked team outside of the SEC (wasn't exactly stacked this year), that was your choice. All my aggie friends are convinced you're final four bound, so who gives a shite.

They do that and then let in conference tourney winners that have no business being in a 64 team tournament.

It’s pretty simple. Don’t lose to 3 mid majors and a shitty Colorado team and you’re not having this conversation.

I’m sure y’all would be arguing the other way if you had beat Kansas and Baylor early on and lost to LSU and Ole Miss recently.

Not.
