Well, that's pretty silly.
Who hires the University president? Who approves the hire? Those factors vary from university to university and play a big role in who lands that position.
I don't have any problem at all with the University of Alabama or any other university naming a black president. Naming a liberal black president that not only believes in but actively promotes critical race theory is a whole different ballgame.
Obviously folks haven't looked over our Board of Trustees!

Talked to a LSU alum last night...Corndog U is going full woke. He wasn't happy at all.
But it's a problem nationwide...a few Twitter bots make university presidents shite in their pants trying to get woke as possible. Pitiful.

Go read the OT...not many LSU alums are happy about it.

I don’t know a single alumni (including African Americans) that are genuinely happy about this.
We’re doing the youth of this country a complete disservice promoting things like critical race over STEM programs. The fact that someone whose career has consisted of writing about a topic like that will now lead the flagship is incredibly disturbing.

I'd hate to be responsible for the LSU Alumni Assn. charitable contributions efforts!

Blame it on greed, gotta peddle those $100k degrees to as many people as possible and these sorts of courses / programs are how the universities and financial institutions who take on the loans decided to grow the enrollment.
Posted on 5/7/21 at 8:26 am to Tuscaloosa
and just exactly what do you think this will do for recruiting black students to their sports programs?

A&M has been there, done that. We just canned Scott Woodward's buddy and hired a great female engineer.
Best of luck to LSU.
Best of luck to LSU.

What is wrong with that?
Nothing is wrong with that... But when you have him pushing things like
"No time like the present: Reflecting on equity in school mathematics"
How can you not see the problem? Mathematics dont care about race, creed, or religion. Math is about numbers. There is always a correct answer. It takes a pretty HUGE leap to say mathematics are racist...

That leap has been taken. There is a growing movement that says expecting correct answers on math problems is racist.

This is the most pissed off I’ve been about something LSU related in my entire life.
fricking disgraceful.

Obviously a concerning hire, but I find it curious the first two posters to come to the SECR with the news were both gumps…and almost immediately after it was announced.

this is a legitimate thread. LSU deserves to be be bashed here for going SJW
I wish this was only a LSU goes woke, or Georgia goes blue point and laugh thing.
But the truth is, this will be pushed by federal funding. They are bribing people with their own money to accept this woke shite.

Why? Black people wanted to get the proper education and this is what LSU trying to do to make it happen to one that have been a huge failure for so long. Do you think more blacks will go to LSU now? You bet that will be huge upgrade and keep the top recruits at home too!
Good lord

And under the present environment in this country,
if you object, you're automatically accused of
being a racist, ostracized, ridiculed and
possible loss of job or position----while
corporations/businesses avoid the same accusation by
falling in line with absurd demands.
We are literally living in draconian times and a numb-nutted society, white, black & brown,
has allowed it to happen.

Once again, thanks for letting us know how you feel about it, Daniel Jr.
You bet. I’m looking forward to not having much to report on. As it stands, Scandal Plagued Louisiana Social Justice Warrior University provides us with discussion material (and plenty of second hand embarrassment) on the frequent.

Geez that’s going to be a disaster. Prog filth are even infiltrating the conservative Deep South universities now

BLML7U just doesn't have the same ring to it as L7U.
Not to worry. You still have at least 6 more years to make it to 7. There was that 2019 thing.
