Arkansas in 2002?

The SEC East has produced a lot of weak champions over the last 13 years, but the West Champ has usually been really good.

This year's LSU team is probably the weakest West Champ since Arkansas in 2002.

Thoughts?

How bad does that make the 2nd place team in the west?

Weakest since Bama 2020 who was actually much weaker. Never once played in front of a packed stadium on the road and played multiple teams who had difficulty fielding enough players to play. Melt.

Maybe but vs where we are now, I would love to be the worst west champ ever and let other teams fans choke on it.

Is Alabama the worst team ever to have a returning heisman starting qb?

Arkansas 2006, had 2 losses and the end of the regular season and ended the season 10-4

LSU 2007, had 2 SEC losses at the end of the regular season

Auburn 2017, had 2 losses, one to unranked LSU, at the end of the regular season and ended the season 10-4

Really competitive, is more accurate. Top 3 teams sitting at 8-2...all in the Top 15 including 2 in the Top 10. We just aren't seeing the huge drop off from the top spot.
