We stopped playing press coverage.

McCarron did nothing against press coverage the whole game.

Bama moved the ball by throwing very short passes (to the sidelines) down the field and worked the clock.
AJ's three passes were all in excess of 10 yrds each.

Bama fans will try to make this win seem more than what is was!!!

LSU WAS IN SOFT COVERAGE!!! AND THAT IS NOT DEBATABLE!!!

Any QB could have drove down the field as soft as we were playing, FACT!!!

It doesn't take a genius to figure that shite out, when the entire 2nd half the Bama offense couldn't move 10 yds.

Freaking idiots!!!

Make that FG and we aren't having these damn discussions.....

I will never understand why you don't stay with what works. -1 yds passing before that last drive was working.

So many chances to end that game and we didn't do it.....nothing else to argue about.

We had chances to put that game away as well. We had two turnovers - and if AJ makes a clean handoff to Yeldon down at the goal line, we would have been golden and it wouldn't have cost me a damn heart attack.

It was a hard fought game, we played our worst game of the year on both offense and defense, credit goes to LSU for out playing us in the 2nd half. Kudos to the LSU crowd for trying to make those last few minutes of the game total hell on our offense. I don't know how AJ could think straight during our last drive.

A few comments: to say that Mett was under the same pressure as bama's QB on the 2 last drives and thus choked is a joke. With 52 seconds left, bama was rushing 2-3 & had the rest deep & deeper in the secondary. Not even close to the same game situations. CLM was asked bout playing soft in the USCe & A&M games, permitting 2 long drives at the end of each game & he said that both drives were helped by 2 15 yr penalities, one in each game that would have made it 4th down. On the play before the TD, he said that a "young player did not make the right drop" & that would have prevented the pass completion ( he did not throw any player under the bus by naming names.) I'll take The Chief's football decisions over anyone here, bama or Tigers. He's a proven great defensive coach. The idiots here have no clue what is behind each & every call he ..or any coach..makes.

Of course not, Bama never holds. His grabbing of the LSU player's jersey, bunching it up, and pulling it to his chest was just an illusion.

It never REALLY happened. The ref just didn't want OT.

And yes, it WOULD have been called as holding - it were an LSU player.....

I really don't know how those people sleep at night.

Sorry but that happens literally every play for every team. His hand is barely outside the numbers and he held it for less than a second. Its the defenders job to SHOW that his progress is being restricted. OL hold literally every block they make....you only get called if there is blatant restriction of the DL or you tackle him, takedown, arm hook him, etc. That play with that type hold will never get called. Additionally, that DL had no chance at the play anyways, it's a screen away from him.

If it would have been an LSU player it would have been holding?

you just can't make this stuff up. How many holding penalties was LSU called for in this game? I really don't recall many if any.

Dude just stop. You're making the rest of us look like pussies. At least find a play where it might actually be a hold. I'm sure there are some that went uncalled, but I have news for you, there were some that were uncalled on LSU as well. The one you linked was not holding and would not have been called holding on either team.

THIS.

The play he linked was "technically" holding, BUT it never ever gets called because it happens every single play by every single lineman and is performed correctly. Yes, coaches teach OL how to hold and get away with it....refs allow it too.

If that LSU DL were to turn and start running after Yeldon down the field and Barrett Jones is still holding the jersey....it would be flagged in an instant. but, he released the jersey right when the DL started to turn. That is coaching and how you block correctly.

If the refs were to call holding by the book, the game would last seriously 6 hours and pretty much every play would have flags on it.
