re: Your 2018 cornerback depth chart

Do we have any WRs that we can convert? Perhaps some WRs that played defense in HS?

We have a ton of WRs on the roster. I wonder if any of them can switch to corner?
re: Danny Etling vs Auburn (Every throw)
Posted by fan251 on 10/16/17 at 5:41 pm
The biggest issue with Etling is that he is either late and/or inaccurate on his throws. The other issue is he fails to go through his progressions. If the primary target is not available, he is either sacked or he bails and runs.
He really needs to be more timely on his throws.

Bama's secondary
Posted by fan251 on 11/6/15 at 1:47 pm
There's a lot of talk about the secondary of Bama and how Brandon Harris hasn't faced a defensive backfield like what he will see in BDS tomorrow night against Bama.
But what about the secondary of UF?
I mean, surely no one believes Hargreaves III, Tabor, Poole, Neal, Wilson, Maye, and company are just bottom of the barrel as far as pass defense is concerned. Or that the UF secondary presented no challenge whatsoever to Brandon Harris!!!
So Bama fans, what should Brandon Harris expect differently from your defensive backfield that we didn't see from UF (a UF secondary whom many have tagged as the best in college football)?

However, Harris is going up against the better secondary.
So, I guess no one considers UF's secondary to be top notch!!! :dunno:

The front 7 of Bama deservedly gets a lot of praise.......however, the secondary is good, but not great by any stretch of the imagination (neither is LSU's for that matter).......
And for anyone to act like Brandon Harris hasn't faced one of the best (if not the best) defensive backfields in the country in UF is just nonsense!!!!
Bama fans, do you really think your secondary is THAT much better than UF?

I Feel like LSU is this really smart kid in class but there is that one kid who is just always one step better than him.
he gets a 95 and the other kid gets a 97..
Everyone in class always talks about how smart he (BAMA) is and no one notices #2 (LSU) .
Isn't Alabama ranked like dead last in high school rankings!!! So, this scenario isn't possible
But seriously, I have no problem with Bama except when we play them....

I am not picking a fight, but I believe lsu has the "little man syndrome" when it comes to Bama. I really believe they measure their success in light of Bama's shadow. Bama is a constant reference in their dialogue. To us they are a good program demanding respect, but not much more.
So incorrect!!! Whatever makes you sleep.....Bama's little dick syndrome is just unbecoming.......

To those of you complaining, please tell us your theory on why the playoff committee is so biased towards Alabama? Did we pay them off? Are there Bama grads on the committee? Does Condoleeza Rice have so much girl power on the committee that she could convince all those men to vote for Bama, even over her own university (Stanford)? Is the SEC office placing phone calls from Birmingham threatening to pull the SEC out of the CFP process unless they protect Bama?
Or is the committee taking an honest look at all the teams and simply believing, as does Vegas, that Bama would beat any of the undefeated teams ranked below it? Looks to me like they are being pretty consistent with a clear message: if you play nothing but cupcakes like TCU, Baylor, and Iowa do, or if you look like shite on a weekly basis (MSU this year, FSU last year), the committee is going to punish you regardless of your win/loss record.
For me, it's not about Bama...........and no, I'm not complaining because I could make a case for why LSU should not be in the top 4 just as I could for Bama or any other team to be honest..........just establishing the fact (and it has been proven by the committee with this latest poll) that W/L record is NOT a factor in determining the top 4 teams and/or "best" teams, which is okay now that it has been confirmed!!!

Yea. The big thing I cant get over is this new committee that was put together with people from all over the country. Very little direct ties to Alabama football and yet this group is biased for Alabama and no other teams. Just like the polls were. Hmmmm
Maybe the fact is that both the polls and the committee are not biased and their perception of Alabama is more close to reality than many want to admit. I know there are millions sick of Bama being good and they want us to lose every week so they dont have to hear about Bama anymore. That's understandable. It always happens when teams are very good for long periods of time.
Who cares where anyone is ranked right now. If you have less than 2 losses keep winning and argue when it matters. Because it really doesnt right now. Funny part is. 95% of the people arguing and fussing would be putting their money on Bama against the teams they are fussing about if they had to bet everything they owned. Thats reality.
For me, I could care less about Bama or any team for that matter since there are still games to be played that will ultimately affect the final rankings anyway........what I don't understand is the lack of concrete criteria that the committee uses for making their decisions......like, what defines the "best" teams? Because "best" could be defined as anything....I mean, it seemingly changes when discussing one team over another and that's biggest the flaw in the committee, IMHO.
To your point, just keep winning and it doesn't matter........:dunno: ; OR DOES IT?

There's no logic to it at all....if the "eye test" is all it takes, then shite :dunno: .....
The game Sat. will be EPIC though, and this just adds to the hype....
Very smart marketing on their part too!!!

If UGA does come open, it's the best available job in the country and that includes USCw (and, obviously, USCe).
Other jobs may come open to change that, but UGA is better than VT, Miami, USC, USCe, UCF, etc.
In the current condition, maybe.......it's tough to say that UGA is better than USCw though...........it's not a big difference, but enough.......

They want to identify where Ricky Jefferson and Dwayne Thomas are during the defensive alignment process. They are doing this cc they think it's a tell as to which package LSU is , to know which hot play to run to attach them specifically , or both. My guess is to attack them. Most good OCs will try to exploit a weakness or exert pressure on a strength in hoping that it will break. If I were Alabama, I would run right at Key when he is in the game , run play action on seem routes and force Beckwith or Jefferson to cover their awesome tightend, throw damn near any pass at D Thomas, but specially play action with a double move and run a lot of wide running plays and roll outs early to force Neal, Godchaux and Lavoutuee to expend energy early chasing the ball.
Pretty much sums up what I would do if were Bama!!!

I'm sure they've noticed that the numbers are close 100% on running the ball out of a 2 WR set that includes Quinn and Diarse as the WRs.
And pretty much every time Trey Quinn is in the game and goes in motion across the formation the play involves a pass to him.
:lol:both of these are spot on!!!

Odd that they would have a guy mimick trey quinn though. I like the kid, but he hasn't don't much/if anything at all the whole season.
Well, LSU has to get rid of tendencies this week!!! So does Bama....
The first series of EVERY LSU vs Bama game where Bama has the ball, Bama's first play is a naked bootleg with a pass to the tightend out in the flat ...........
Cam Cameron has to eliminate tendencies......
I just hope our secondary figures out what to do with all the freaking "rub routes" aka "wide receiver pick" that Bama likes to run......especially Kiffin.....his combo routes packages are pretty good imho.....
