6 straight #1 ranked classes. Sure.

Recruiting championships don't exist.

What is so hard to understand about that?

Say what it is instead of what Bama fan wants it to be and I'm not even in this stupid thread.

You are missing my point. I acknowledged there is no recruiting championship. That was just his way of saying we have had the #1 class for however many years.

My point is that it's not a big deal lol.

They get it too. Or maybe the delusion is all too real around here.

The only Alabama-LSU game in the last 2 decades or so that Bama won decisively """""IN""""" Tiger Stadium was 2002.

LSU has won decisively over Alabama in Tiger Stadium in that same time frame in: 2004 and 2006 (as well as defeated them in 2000 and 2010 in BR.) LSU also beat Alabama decisively in Tuscaloosa in 2001 and 2003.

You know it brotha.

We've played Bama close in Tuscaloosa in '13 and '15, but only for 3 quarters or so

There is no question that bama's STARTING "D" is top of the line. What I can't wrap my head around is the tide nation thinking the '16 version will be better than '15.

Going into the '15 season bama's Dline returned all three starters and was two deep with quality and experience. A solid six players. The '16 Dline has four going in with one returning starter.

The LBs last year returned two starters and went seven deep with extremely talented players with big game experience. Current team returns one starter and five total with quality SEC experience.

The '15 team brought back two starters to the secondary and had a total of six sec quality experienced DBs. If and when tony brown returns to the team bama will have five talented and experienced DBs heading into the '16 season. If not it's only four.

Sure some of those new players can develop and possibly turn into holy terrors this year but, you really don't know going in. That '15 "D" was LOADED from the get go.

On a related subject. History isn't on the side of the tide '16 "D". The last three times ('10, '12 and '14) saban and bama returned five or fewer starters on defense the PPG and total yards given up both increased.

I see this "D" being more in line with '14 than '15. Still a quality group just, not as dominating as last season.

I agree to an extent. I think that the defense will be a more LSU-esque defense. Fast and attacking. Not brutal and smash mouth giants like usual.

That's just me though. Can't wait to see what Tim Williams will do as an every down player.

[quote]Tim Williams scares me. IMO hes the biggest miss of a Louisiana kid in the past 5 years or so

What are you smoking, dude? So a player that has yet to be an everyday starter is the biggest miss compared Dak Prescott, who starred at MSU, at the position that most people will agree has been LSU's weakest position during that time? mmm...OK!

This is what LSU returns in the secondary.

T white (SR) - four year starter
K Toliver (SO) - two year starter
J Adams (JR) - two year starter
R Jefferson (SR) - two year starter

D Thomas (SR) - started nine games last year
D Jackson (SO) - started one game last year. Third CB, played in every game.
J Battle (JR) - played defense in every game was third safety at end of season. Dime back.

Return five with eight or more starts last year.
Total of 50 starts from last year returning.

3.2 passes defended per game.
Seven DBs with 25 or more tackles

Now hammy how bout you tell us all about that insanely talented and proven bama secondary?

Be careful I might all ready know the answer.

What I want to see with williams is if they rest him on any particular downs. He was great as a third down specialist. You have to keep him in there on third and long. He will need a blow at some point though.

You prove your stupidity over and over. I expect you to disappear like the L5U clowns who pulled this exact same shite last year. This D will be nothing like 2014 because 14 the secondary was the weak spot. The secondary will be this D's strength with no weaknesses close to what 14 had in the secondary.

2 decades? That'd include 1996's spankin' in BR.

Returning:
E. Jackson (SR) - 6 Int, 2 PD
M. Humphrey (SO) - 3 Int, 8 PD
M. Fitzpatrick (SO) - 2 Int, 11 PD
R. Harrison (SO) - 2 Int, 6 PD
T. Brown (SO) - 2 PD
M. Smith (SR) - 1 PD

3 DBs with 45+ tackles per game.

Oh, and all four INTs for TDs are returning as well.

I think we'll be okay ;)

Has tony brown been reinstated ?

Isn't smith one of the DBs that transferred out?

Never said you wouldn't be OK.

Just think LSU returns MORE in the secondary.

Yep. Just googled m smith. He gone. Now you down to five on your list. Believe brown is still suspended so, that makes it four DBs on your list. Don't worry brown will return before the season starts.
