Ruling: SEC can't sanction teams using players with NFL ties play
The SEC and commissioner Greg Sankey are not allowed, at least for now, to punish schools if they play a college football player who returns to campus after signing a contract with an NFL team this summer, according to an order signed Friday by a Louisiana state judge.

If BK can win 7 games with his inept coaching you are dreaming .Dont think a coach that has won 10 games at least 4 times in his career isn’t going win big at LSU .I mean if Ogeron and hardheaded Les can win natties I would think LK can.Lane is in your nightmares ,it’s so obvious.

By this logic BK should have won natties at LSU. In fact wasn’t that long ago that was the narrative. Now you call him inept but I am sure you will say the same if not worse when Lane burns you guys which is his signature move.

And they also won’t be able to retroactively impose penalties either. LSU followed the law and would win any suit in court should the SEC try.
If the NCAA/SEC gets the injunction (almost a certainty it will be approved) overturned then LSU will remove them from the roster. How hard is that to understand? LSU won’t play them 1 single game that they are deemed ineligible with no court saying otherwise.
Should the SEC try to impose retroactive penalties then they really would be paying our NIL for the next 5-10 years. No court will agree with a punishment for something LSU was doing legally at the time.
The rule is in dispute legally. If it stands then they can impose penalties for any team currently committing the infraction. Not retroactively.
I’ll also add the only reason you’re mad is because the SEC office has given Alabama every advantage possible for the last 50+ years. Now that Lane and LSU of all schools talked back and showed they actually have no power you’re all up in your feelings.
You know deep down Alabama’s days as the premier program are over and each day that passes is just more proof of it. LSU has pretty much for the most part gotten all of the spotlight that Alabama used to get and you hate it.
Say what you want about the country hating LSU. Thats fine. That’s what I figured before this anyway. Now, I get to watch them use mental gymnastics to show why LSU doesn’t deserve or cheated to get the success they will ultimately get.

LSU has been getting gutted on ESPN all morning. They have been dead for an hour and they are still beating the hell out of them.
Remember a couple years ago? How DARE LSU hire a coach away from Notre Dame?
Does anyone remember even remotely the same outrage for USC (a school that has been further down than LSU for a couple decades) hiring the coach away from Oklahoma (a much more legit contender than Notre Dame has been, and just about as much history)?
What about Florida or Penn State, who also fired their coaches midseason? Especially Florida, who hired a guy who had his team in the CFP, same as LSU?
Where was the media outrage a couple years ago when Alabama plucked Deboer from Washington, right after they made the final? I get not during the playoffs, but that neutered a P4 program that conceivably have been building towards repeat appearances.
Now, they're bitching at LSU because a group of guys have eligibility restored via the courts, and LSU is looking. The TE knows Kiffin's system, so there's an easy fit. Others would be depth.
I'm a Saints fan, we just added a RB (Zamir White, UGA) and placekicker (Daniel Carlson, Auburn). Those guys played a couple days after joining the team. White ran a TD. I'm sure there will be more additions in the next week.

It’s what they want to happen so they think of ways to make a punishment sound logical. Truth is how can they impose a penalty when LSU isn’t breaking any rules? The TRO and injunctions already won have suspended the NCAA/SEC rule until the courts can figure out if the rule is legal or not.
The NCAA and SEC rules are being challenged legally. In the meantime the judges say they’re eligible. So no rules are being broken. Now, if the NCAA/SEC happen to get it overturned, then each program will have to cut these players or then face the penalties.
