So they gave him the notice of termination four cause on 11/3? If not, when the firing became "official" is completely irrelevant.

That’s correct. Nothing else matters if they didn’t give him the proper notice IF they were firing for cause. He was formally in writing told to hit the road. That’s a firing without cause, per the contract.

I feel like his email response the day after and all official statements will outweigh whatever trumped up "official notification" they are now trying to manufacture. And, what, again, is the cause?

It is a complete shitshow. I really like LSU. Always have. My #2 team since forever. But, damn, it is just getting embarrassing.

Stop the bleeding. Pay the man and move on.

It may be what they want. If he sues, their liability insurance may kick in to cover/offset the cost.

If I’m Kelly, I’m like, “I’m not fired? Ok. I’ll see you on the sidelines for the Arkansas game.”

They did cancel his standing tee time that Sunday so maybe he can sue them for mental anguish since he was technically not fired lol. He can probably use that as supporting evidence of his firing

I did quite a few contract jobs in Lousiana back in the day. Everything and everyone is corrupt down there and yes, they all have their hands out.

Even the local police are in on the corruption racket.

I can’t imagine this is good for recruiting or even retaining players. Kelly is who brought them and although he’s fired every player/recruit believed in him. And they LSU trying to burn him on the way out.

Imagine someone promising money to a prospective recruit or portal and they see LSU reneging on paying the coach. Might not be received well. I just don’t see any positive for LSU. Fired before year was over. Now trying to change terms to pay less. No coach on place.

It will be a huge hill to climb for any new coach to undo damage. Perception is huge with young kids and their parents trying to choose a school. They look so disorganized and cheap. A kid promised NIL money sees he might have to sue to get paid if they slow play the funds. They are not looking at the bigger picture.
