Non trolling question: What happened? I don't really follow baseball the way I do football, so I know little about the other teams.

There is no reason for LSU to ever be this bad given the fact that they put more money into baseball than every other SEC school. Its like Lady Vols basketball, at the very worst they should still be in the tournament postseason every year

Top of the conference in walks, hit batters and wild pitches. Offense has done well enough for this team to be at least .500 in the conference despite the transfers not working out. Pitchers just can’t throw strikes. OppBA is good, lead the country in strikeouts, but when you give so many free bases, you’re going to struggle like this. We had a 3 run lead in three straight games in the 6th or later and led 19 innings in 3 games against State…lost all three games

None of the transfers really panned out and the pitching overall has been garbage.

This, but the rest of the SEC got a head start on the transfer portal while we were busy winning another natty

Losing your top 2 pitchers and your best hitter didn’t help.

We already sucked by the time we lost Evans and Brown (and Evans had struggled too). Losing Moore in the second SEC series did suck though

Crucial injuries, poor fielding, and a pitching staff that did not improve at all.
We'll be fine in 2027, IMO. Enjoy our misery now and maybe win something important yourself.

Collected a bunch of of pitchers that could throw hard, thinking they would develop and learn control, but they never learned control.

Lazy excuse.
UCLA, Coastal Carolina, and Arkansas were all in Omaha, too, and doing just fine.

We've been hit with the injury bug this year too. And I agreed with who I replied to. It's not just one thing.

Still ingrained in me to fear LSU baseball.
Won't feel good until the last out.
Just baked into my SEC baseball DNA.

Hearing from UGA about how great they are is even worse, LOL.
