We'll be fine in 2027, IMO.
What's changing between now and then?
Complete turnover of pitching staff and coaches?
In conference era = 6.33, in conference runs surrendered at 7/gm.
I'm hoping Texas processes out about 60% of our staff.

I wouldn't bet on them being this bad again. That said, appears hitting on the portal is a huge deal in baseball moreso than football. At least when looking at the blue bloods of the sport.

None of the transfers really panned out and the pitching overall has been garbage.
I watched some of LSU/Georgia yesterday. LSU pitcher ( Lachenmayer ?? )
threw 11 straight balls. I'd never seen that before. The pitches were really close, so much so that even I thought something fishy was going on behind home plate.
LSU has a solid athletic program in all sports, they wont be down long.

The line between bad and great in SEC baseball is extremely thin.
LSU is close. The transfer infielders were brutal defensively. Jay made changes in early April and the fielding got better. The offense too. They’ve scored 8 in 5 straight conference road games.
The main problem is the Fri and Sat pitchers went down. There is a thread on the rant about how many leads LSU has carried into the 6th, but lost. I think it was 8. They are having to go 10-12 innings deeper in the bullpen.
They also can’t afford any losses. Pair that with the injuries and they are using primary relievers in midweek games.
The stars haven’t aligned at all this year. Not like they did last year.
The optimism is coming from the freshman class offensively. They return 2 starting pitchers with 1st round draft grades in ‘27. A relief core returning that has pitched in Omaha. And 2027 is another odd numbered year.

Well for one a large overhaul of the pitching staff and they’ll pull an ace out the portal. The pitching staff while garbage was also incredibly young except for Zac Cowan.
They’ll have Casen Evans (minor arm injury two weeks ago) and William Schmidt back, who have had struggles but you can see have elite stuff-just hasn’t been consistent like an ace. They are both projected round 1 2027 picks.
Cooper Moore who was primed for a good season as the Saturday starter will be back. He suffered an arm injury against Oklahoma and was held out for the year.
Replace in the field Curiel and Brown, who are your most polished players. You already lost Brown 3 weeks ago.
4 true freshmen and 2 true sophomores have been starting almost daily since Brown went down, and the offense has been really good.
Realistically, the entire infield will be back (possibly Milam), they’ll be replacing a center and right fielder who are very good though.
However, the combo of Arrambide and Serna in the 3-4 hole likely give you the most pop of any team in the nation next season. They’ll add some guys too of course. I’m just hoping they add say 2-3 really good guys in the field and 2-3 really good pitchers and not just add bodies like this past year when the true freshmen were all better than the transfers.

Ready for this abomination of a season to end tbh
Eh. LSU is still king in baseball just like Alabama is in football. That said, it's nice for us to get a little taste, and hopefully we can do well in the coming years.

You'd probably hear a lot less if you wouldn't start threads asking for it.
Can't recall having ever started a thread about UGA baseball. If I did it would probably be about how long ago 1990 was.
