The NCAA was so hot for Dale Brown, that if Shaq was getting paid, they would have known. That's how they finally got Dale, Lester Earl.
That's not where the cheating was happening though. It was happening in the classroom by passing these guys who never went to class and had other students take exams for them.
Anyone else remember Jose Vargas? He was ostensibly in my Western Civ class. I'm pretty sure he couldn't read or write.
All that went away when Saban built the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes.
